TITLE: HONLDING ON TO YOUR FAITH

TEXT: HEBREWS 13:01-25 (Concluding Words)

13 So let us go out to Him, OUTSID THE CAMP, and bear the DISGRACE HE BORE.

14 For this world is not our PERMANENT HOME, we are looking forward to a home yet to come.

15 Therefore, let us offer through Jesus a CONTINUAL SACRIFICE OF PRAISE to God, proclaiming our
ALLEGIANCE TO HIS NAME.

THINGS TO REMEMBER AS YOU HOLD ON TO YOUR FAITH:

01. JESUS CHRIST SUFFERED DISGRACE

- vs 13

- being outside the camp in the old testament meant; uncleanness, disgrace and suffering. It tells you
that you are not a part of the Jewish community.

- as Christ bore the cross outside the camp, let us MOVE OUTSIDE the SAFE CONFINEMENT of OUR PAST.

- if you’ve been in sin for a long time, it means you are comforted by it. Wherever you are in your
stagnancy, Christ is calling you outside of the camp.

- sometimes, Christianity means suffering and a thousand miles away from comfort.

- DON’T MAKE YOUR SIN, RELIGEOUSITY, AND ANYTHING HOLD YOU BACK FROM YOUR GROWTH AND
COMPLETE LOYALTY IN CHRIST!

02. THIS WORLD IS NOT PERMANENT

- vs 14

- although we Christians still love a part of this earth; families, spouses, jobs, schools and even churches,
we SHOULD NOT CLING TO IT! Always focus on the eternal things.

- Matthew 6: 19- 21 “… Don’t store up treasures on earth; store them in heaven…”

03. OFFER CONTINOUS SACRIFICE

- vs 15
- we have only two options. Either we praise satan or we praise God.

- as Christians, our praise speaks about who we are in Christ. Our consistency in this sacrifice shows the
deepness in loving God.

- we could offer sacrifice of praise through our lips, our prayer and our time for worship. Let us always
see to it that our actions bless the name of the Lord and let us be thankful to Christ for his sacrifice in
the cross as we tell others about his sacrifice on the cross.

Let us then hold on to Christ through acknowledging his suffering on the cross, through looking forward
to what is ahead and eternal, and through praising him in our time of worship and through sharing the
gospel unto others.
