HOLD ON

But I trust in your unfailing love;

PSLAM 13: 5

my heart rejoices in your salvation.

David felt the pressure of His problems just like we do. He felt impatient of God’s
answers just like us. But he was different in some ways because he was so honest
with God. He told God what he felt at all times and through that, he ends his
psalms remembering who God really is.

Through prayer, unending prayer – even in times of despair – David did not give up
nor give in to his problems. Instead, he chose to hold on.

Sometimes, giving up is so much easier than holding on, especially when the
situation is hard. But only through holding on to God that we are able to see and
experience the good future God has prepared. Therefore, let us pray at all times –
no matter how hard.

only the fool denies God

But there they are, overwhelmed with dread,

psalm 14:5

for God is present in the company of the righteous.

When do we say that there is no God?

1. when we refuse to live by Good’s truths

- we don’t accept his love nor live by his love and for his love.

- we don’t give importance to what he’s done for us.

2. When we rely on ourselves more than God

- we like to do things based on what we want and not what he wants.

- we don’t care if God is hurt by us.

3. when we disrespect those who obey God

- God is with our leaders, when we disrespect them, we are actually doing it to God.

Living in His courts

Psalm 65;

03 When we were overwhelmed by sins, you forgave our transgressions.

04 Blessed are those you choose and bring near to live in your courts! We are filled
with the good things of your house, of your holy temple.

We are constantly bombarded by the works and the lavish things of this world. from
our family fights, to social media gossips, to k-drama feelings, to games, and
others stuffs. But all of these things actually keep us away from God. Just as the
author says, we are overwhelmed by our sins. Yet, it is not too late to change for
God is willing to forgive us.

Why do we need to change our ways?

1. because those who live in God’s courts are filled with good things.

- all these things the world offers us are unimportant in for our soul. Sometimes,
they are even so harmful for us. Therefore, we need to go to church and refresh
ourselves with God’s love so we could live a life for Him. We should also make way
to be on church so we could detoxify ourselves from the trash this world offers us.

2. because only those who come to God are forgiven from their sins and
transgressions.

- Without the forgiveness of our sins, we can’t receive salvation. If you already
received salvation yet lived a life of sinfulness still, then your salvation would not be
taken away from you. In other words, it is impossible for you to lose your salvation
yet your salvation would be void. For true salvation comes with an effect – to live a
life for God and for God alone.

I encourage everyone to come to church this next Sunday as long as your parents
allow you. Kung dili man gani ta mahadlok na mulakaw sa school para magkuhag
card, kung di man gani ta mahadalok na muadtog mall para mamalit, nganung
mahadlok man ta na mag adtog church para daygon ang Diyos na nagaprotekta
satua? Remember, choosing to be far from God today would cause us to lose our
love for Him in the future.
