Life’s 2 roads

Psalm 01:03

They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and
they prosper in all they do.

The described people are those who seek life’s narrow road. It is the road of the righteous – people
who:

1. do not follow the advice of the wicked

2. do not stand around sinners

3. do not join with mockers.

4. delight the law and meditates on it day and night.

These people have God’s goodness and favor following after them. For God does not base his goodness
on race, sex, or national origin. But he blesses those who respond to his live by living in obedience to his
word. Hating sin but loving him.

The future of the ungodly

Psalm 01:04

But not the wicked! They are like worthless chaff, scattered by the wind.

CHAFF

-the outer shell of a kernel or grain

-removed from the grain for they are worthless

-taken out through threshing and winnowing

-light and easily tossed by the wind

-a symbol of the ungodly

If your life is carefree but meaningless, it is clear that you are living according to you will and not the will
of God. This kind of life may be fun for a moment but it leads to destruction. Use your life as a kernel or
a grain, something that falls to the ground because it has weight. Something that could flourish after
being buried in the dark, dirty soil.

The faithless has a wild life but leads to destruction. The Godly has a disciplined life that leads to favor
and blessings.

Psalm 02

03 “Let us break their chains,” they cry, “and free ourselves from slavery to God.”

Inevitably, something always serves someone or something. Whether it is a king or an organization or

even sin. To serve means to do what our master tells us to do. Why do most people fall into sin?
Because they serve sin. They can’t control themselves and they are forced to do it because their
emotions, desires and sin itself tells them to do it. When you still fall into sin, it means sin is governing
your life. Christ died on the cross to free you from sin. But unless you will make Christ your master, sin
will always try to become your king – and he will.

Just as a tree is not free when it leaves the soil or a fish is not free when it leaves the water, we are not
free when we leave God – our source of life.

Only God – our creator can truly set us free from the bondages of life and we will become who he has
meant us to be.
