Teaching Philosophy Reflection

My teaching philosophy did not change much. I still agreed with everything that I had

wrote before. I just added about the relationships that need to be built. I have come to

recognize that is the most important thing that a teacher can give to their students. It makes

students want to work hard for you. It also makes them want to have good behavior while in

your classroom. When they feel like you care for them then they will care about you in return. If

a teacher treats them like they are nothing, then they will start to believe that. They will not

learn when they feel like they cannot. A teacher must build her students up and make them

think that they can do more than even what they can. I have heard from many experienced

teachers that building relationships are the most important thing in your classroom. I try

everyday to acknowledge every student and let them know that I am there for them. I

recognize what they like to do and what they are best at. I then give them those jobs in the

classroom. I make them feel like they are a very important part of the classroom. I also help my

students understand that everyone makes mistakes and that is okay. We all make mistakes. I

also keep telling my students that it is okay if you learn differently or slower than others. We

are all made to be different.

I have learned so much in both of my placements. I feel that both experiences will make

me a much better teacher as well as a person. I have always been very patient but both

placements have improved my patience. I have also learned that it is also okay if I make a

mistake. I just stop and start again. Children are very forgiving.
