1. Learning the new - August 18, 2022 Training of the new Science
Science Curriculum - 12 am – 3pm curriculum was completed at
Kyle and Ann Fort Arts and
Sciences Building. It was to
teach the teachers how to use
the new newsletters for
Science curriculum.
2. Waggle Math August 18, 2022. Waggle math is used for
training 8 am- 11 am intervention time for students.
This training helped teach
teachers how to use the
program and how to use the
website.
3. Learning.com August 22, 2022 Learning.com is a program
8:30-9:30 that teaches students how to
type. This training taught
teachers about the new
program that they will be
using this school year.

From this professional development
activity, I learned how to take the
curriculum that was given to me
and apply it in my lessons. I also
was shown how the students can
use the material and create projects.
I learned that Waggle math is a
great way to help students during
intervention time. I learned that the
program has an assessment built
into the program. Once the students
take the assessment the program
places the students into a path of
learning made just for them.
I learned how to use the program to
assign students activities to do. It
also taught me how the program
works and what the students are
expected to complete.

4. HMH August 22, 2022 HMH is the reading program
1 pm – 3 pm that Greenbrier County
Schools uses. During this
training it taught teachers how
to use to curriculum in their
planning and lessons.
5. Student support August 23, 2022 This training was for teachers
8:30-9:30 to learn about the programs
that Greenbrier county offers
the students for mental health
and for outside home
assistance.
6. Mind the gap August 23, 2022 This training is to teach
9:30-10:30 teachers how to teach math. It
helps teachers fill in the gaps
of understanding.
7. New line board August 23, 2022 This training was to teach

smartboards in their
classrooms. It taught the
teachers how to use all the new

I learned a lot during this training. I
had not seen a teacher’s guide until
this day. This class helped me
understand how to use the guide
and how to find what is the most
important skills to teach.
During this training I learned how
communities in schools and other
mental health services serve the
students in Greenbrier County
Schools. They help students that
need clothing while at school. Help
families with homelife issues. They
also work with other programs in
the county.
I learned that just because students
get the right answer it does not
mean that they completely
understand the problem. They need
more than just getting the answer.
They must understand why the
answer is what it is. They need to
be able to take what they know and
dig deeper.
I learned just how many features
that the new line boards have. It
was amazing to see everything that
it will do. It will also save what is
written on the board. The teacher is
able to save the material that was
written on the board. All the
teachers were amazed with the new

8. Writing August 23, 2022 This training was to teach
1:00-2:00 teachers how to teach writing.
The training gave teachers an
example of an activity that
teachers can use. It also got the
teachers thinking about how to
present writing to the students.
9. Classroom August 23, 2022 This training was for teachers
Management 2:00-3:00 to understand how important
classroom management is. It
also helped teachers see that
all teachers fail sometimes
during their classroom
management. The presenter
gave examples of things that
happened to him during his
years as a teacher.
10. Ukeru October 10, 2022 This training helps teachers
protect students from hurting
themselves. It also helps
teachers protect themselves
when students have lost
control of themselves.

handouts. It was just giving
examples.

I learned that teachers must learn
how to introduce writing to
students. It also made me realize the
process of writing. It made me
realize that teachers need to know
the process and learn how to present
it to the students so they will
understand it.
I learned that teachers all fail
sometimes during classroom
management. It is about caring for
the students and trying your best. I
learned that students need
relationships built and they need to
know that you care about them.
I learned how the brain works and
the different areas in the brain what
they control. I learned how to use
pads to protect myself and others. I
also learned self defense moves.
