About the workshop

The Jazz Workshop is a one to one week, intensive training in jazz and
improvised music. It takes place in cooperation with other institutions or
individually, depending on needs and abilities. It is led by a very active
and experienced upright bassist Jakub Dworak.

The workshop’s aims

• Immersion in the main aspects of jazz and improvised musics by


playing regularly as a group.
• Meet other musicians or strengthen previous links between
musicians.
• Enjoy playing together, sharing a common passion.
• Perform on stage during public concerts.

The workshop’s contents

• Selecting of a repertoire.
• Study of the selected repertoire in ensembles
• Speci c periods of studies : listening, analyzing, practicing the
instrument, rhythm, music theory.
• Individual lessons.
• Free time, listening sessions, jam sessions.


For whom is this workshop?

The Jazz Workshop is mainly aimed for musicians interested in solo


and ensemble playing and improvisation.

There are no age restrictions, all instruments (including voice) are
welcome. The most important thing is motivation. All applications are
welcome and will be considered.

Practical informations

Covid-19: Should sanitary measures oblige it, the programme and its
modalities may be adapted.

No age limit, all instruments (voice included) are welcome. Motivation is


the most essential. However it is important that the participants already
master their instrument well. They should also already have a little
improvisational practice. That being said, all applications are welcomed
and will be taken attentively into consideration.

Regular work schedule (Mon-Fri): 10 am to 1 pm / 2 pm to 6 pm



Meal: Not provided

Accommodation: Not provided, but inexpensive suggestions on
demand

Fee: CHF 300 per day
