The Baby Spider is crocheted in a spiral. (Unless specified otherwise)
Sometimes it's easiest to use a stitch marker to mark the beginning of each round.

Head Make 1 (4.7g)

Using the color you chose for the head & the body.
1) Ch 6, Turn. Starting 2nd Ch from Hook, 3 Sc in next st, Sc 3 sts, 3 Sc in next
st.
Continue crocheting around to the other side of Ch stitches. Sc in the last 3 sts. [12]

2) Sc, 3 Sc in the next st, Sc 5 sts, 3 Sc in the next st, Sc in the last 4 sts. [16]
3) Sc 2, 3 Sc in the next st, Sc 3 sts, Inc, Sc 3 sts, 3 Sc in next st, Sc 3 sts, [22]
Inc, Sc.

4) Sc 9, Inc, Sc 10, Inc, Sc. [24]

5 – 10) Sc 24 [24]

The beginning chain will be the top of the spider's head.

Place 16mm safety eyes between rows 5 & 6 with about 1 visible stitch in between them.
Place 10mm safety eyes between rows 5 & 6 with 1 visible stitch apart from large eyes.
(The eyes should be all sitting very close together)
11) (Sc 4, Dec) x 4 [20]
12) (Sc 3, Dec) x 4 [16]
13) (Sc 2, Dec) x 4 [12]
Start stuffing medium firm with polyfil. Over stuffing may change the shape of the head.
14) (Sc, Dec) x 4 [8]
15) (Dec) x 4 [4]
Fasten off with a long yarn tail and close up hole. Feed the tail up to the top of the head.
Skip about 2 stitches on the top and then feed back down to the bottom hole you closed.
Pull the yarn tail snug creating an indent at the top of the head for shape.
Secure and weave in end.
Fangs Make 2 (2.3g)
I usually go with the lightest color for the fangs.
1) Sc 6 in Magic Circle. [6]
2) Inc in the first st, Sc 5 in remaining sts. [7]
3) Inc, Sc 6 [8]
4) Sc 4 and fasten off with a long yarn tail. Do not complete this row. [8]

Lightly stuff fangs with polyfil or remaining inner yarn tail.

Sew fangs close together below the eyes with the last 4 Sc you worked facing the front.
This will help the fangs curve with the head shape.
Body Make 1 (12.5g)
Using the same color you used for the head.
1) Sc 6 in Magic Circle. [6]
2) (Inc) x 6 [12]
3) (Sc, Inc) x 6 [18]
4) (Sc 2, Inc) x 6 [24]
5) (Sc 3, Inc) x 6 [30]
6) (Sc 4, Inc) x 6 [36]
7) (Sc 5, Inc) x 6 [42]
8 – 11) Sc 42 [42]
12) (Sc 5, Dec) x 6 [36]
13) (Sc 4, Dec) x 6 [30]
14) (Sc 3, Dec) x 6 [24]
15) (Sc 2, Dec) x 6 [18]

Stuff the body firmly with polyfil. Fasten off with long yarn tail for sewing.
Sew the body onto the back of the head as shown.

Pedipalps Make 2 (4.5g)

Using the color you chose for the legs.
1) Sc 6 in Magic Circle [6]
2) (Sc, Inc) x 3 [9]
3 – 5) Sc 9 [9]
Stuff lightly with polyfil or with remaining inner yarn tail.
6) (Sc, Dec) x 3 [6]
7) Sc 6 [6]
Fasten off and leave a long yarn tail for sewing.
Place and sew on pedipalps close to fangs, as shown in image.

Legs Make 8 (12.1g)

Using the color you chose for the legs.
1) Ch 10, Turn. Starting with the 2nd Ch from hook, HDC 9, Ch 1, Turn. [9]
2) HDC 9, Turn. [9]
Now you start folding the piece over the 3.5” wire as shown in images.

Start crocheting both sides together with the wire inside.

* If you are not using wire - continue to crochet both sides together the same way.
3) Sl St, Sc, (Dec) x 2, Sc 3 [7]

Fasten off with a long yarn tail for sewing. Place the legs by poking wire into
the head as shown. Sew around the leg to secure. Weave in ends.
Fur Detail Make 4 (Optional)
I usually only add fur to every other leg, just so it doesn't completely cover them.
If you prefer an extra fluffy spider, or you are using a shorter length fur yarn, feel free to add
to every leg.
Attach yarn to any available loop above the bend on the leg as shown. Ch 1 and continue to
Sc about 6 sts back up to the head. Fasten off with tail long enough to weave in.
Helpful Tip: You can also skip the fur yarn altogether and use a wire pet brush. Carefully
brush the legs creating a subtle fuzz effect.
Congrats!
You have finished your cute little friend.
