CARDIOVASCULAR SYSTEM
The cardiovascular system is made up of the heart, the blood and the blood vessels. The
blood maintains the internal environment in a constant state through its function of
transportation, regulation and protection. The ceaseless beat of the heart night and day
throughout one’s lifetime is such an obvious key to the presence of life. The cells must have
oxygen and it is the heart’s pumping action that propels oxygenated blood to them. The blood
vessels carry oxygen to the different parts of the body and collects wastes and carbon dioxide
from them too.
