NARRATIVE REPORT ON CAREER GUIDANCE

PROGRAM ORIENTATION
S.Y. 2021-2022
As mandated by the Department of Education, students need career
guidance to explore and plan for future career endeavors based on their individual
interests, skills and values. Participation in career guidance enhances linkage of
academic and career experiences and thus, improves career preparation and
management. However, because of the crisis that the nation is facing, students will
not be able to attend the orientation personally. Thus, last October 25, 2021, with
the coordination and management of the BNHS Grade 10 Faculty headed by Mr.
Renevib E. Fuentes, G-10 Coordinator, and Mr. Ritchie Ruta, JHS Guidance
Advocate, the conduct of Career Guidance Orientation was held with the
participation of the Grade 10 parents.

Observing the health protocols which strictly implemented by the IATF and
religiously followed by the BNHS Faculty and Staff, the parents’ orientation was
done in the morning and in the afternoon to maintain proper social distancing. The
program was held at the Grade 10 classrooms and it was facilitated by the
advisers. The program started at 9:00 in the morning, with Ms. Sarah Inocente as
the master of ceremony. The statement of purpose was given by Mr. Ariel A. Paler,
BNHS Head Teacher I. It was then followed by the message by the school principal,
Ms. Marcela G. Marticion-Ortega, where she made mention of the importance of
choosing the right career path for the students who will be turning senior high
school for the next school year. Ms. Ortega also emphasized how the support of the
parents make great impact to the career of the students.

The orientation proper was facilitated by the speaker, Mr. Ritchie Ruta, JHS
Guidance advocate. He presented the risks of not having career plans and
decisions. He also added in his presentation the effects and advantages in choosing
the career that the students are most skilled and interested at. And the rest of the
presentation was about the tracks and strands that the students could choose from
when they go to senior high school that would suit their preferences.

The orientation has ended with a closing prayer led by Ms. Leorosana
Amongan, Master Teacher I. The parents brought with them words of
encouragement and thanks from the facilitators of the program.
