Priest Formation

MY IDEAL PRIEST

My ideal priest is Rev. Fr. Jude Rebaldo. Father Jude is one of the priests that I

idolized in today’s generation. He is one of the priest that inspire me to become a priest.

For me Father Jude is a kind of priest that fulfills hi duties. He never abandons his

responsibilities on the church.

He priorities first his duties in church’s before attending unnecessary events. One

of my experiences that I observe on him is that when he has schedules to celebrate a

he is on time no delayed. He’s never been late on his schedule because he prepare in

advance. And the second time is when he is done celebrating the mass, some people

invited him to take a break and to eat but, he declines the offers given to him. He says

to the person who invited him that he has another scheduled on other barangays to

celebrate a mass. Father Jude have a time management to herself to fulfill his duties

well.

One of the most that I admire to him is that the way he delivers his homilies. Through

the way he introduces Jesus through his homilies to the lay faithful. He makes it easy to

be understood by the peoples who are listening to his homily. The way he arrange his
thoughts is properly in order, and another is the wisdom and the moral lesson that you

can get from it is very useful in daily life and make their lives closer to God.

On the life of Father Jude I know that he is not a perfect person. He makes

mistakes like other people do but, he strives to holiness. He do not repeat the mistakes

that he done before. He applies confession and reparation to his sins. One that I heard

on his homilies he said that, the church is not a museum of holy people but a Hospital

for sick people. So many people talking about church scandals and they reasoned it to

do not go to church. Father Jude clarifies that we must focus to God not to the people.

As I observe from father Jude too is he’s charisma to the people. The lay people

love him because for them Father Jude is an Ideal priest. The lay people see’s the

characteristic of a priest to father Jude. One time, I heard that on the parish of

Camaligan, lay faithful there do not wanted father Jude to be re-chaplain.

In today’s we need a kind of priest like Father Jude. Who is responsible,

disciplined, and with integrity who committed his self well on his duties. Forming

shepherds must first start for inspiring them to be fully faithful to God. They must

understand the path that they cross. Because being a priest is not a joke. They must

learn the importance of their duties to the church. I training must be conducted

physically, morally, rationally and spiritually.
