Reaction Paper

The video interview of Jamie Crosbie the CEO of ProActivate, a company that
specializes in providing the top leadership, sales, and marketing talent for growing
organizations. Provided us with her key insights on hiring, recruiting, and developing
salespeople.

In the interview, Crosbie emphasized the importance of hiring people who are
working and winning, rather than just candidates who are simply looking for
employment. Crosbie believes that because sales is the lifeblood of a company, the
people working for sales should be selected carefully. However, if there are a shortage
of skilled salespeople, it is up to the company to train these individuals to grow and be
skilled.

On the other hand, Crosbie also emphasized the importance of getting to know
your employee’s goals, rather than just giving them the sales quota. Because she
believes that a sales manager should align the company’s goals to the individual goals
of the salespersons. A mutually beneficial relationship, wherein both the individual and
the company grow is the key component in creating a profitable and successful sales
team.

Jamie Crosbie’s interview made me realize a lot of things regarding the


importance of setting up goals, building relationship, and having a positive mindset. I
have learned that a salesperson is still an individual that prioritizes his/her goals, and as
a person who would work on sales, I should keep in mind to prioritize my growth, while
helping the company I’m working with grow in revenue and relevance.
