Success
Story
What made it so successful was its ability to

deliver an experience that changed how many

people in the world think about coffee shops

and how many of us drink coffee outside the

home. Starbucks has created a third place

between home and work where people can

relax, enjoy a cup of coffee, and experience a

warm atmosphere.
Logo History
The original black and white (and later
brown) two tailed mermaid appeared on the
walls of Starbucks coffee stores, encircled by
the name of the company. The founders
believed that sirens lured sailors with their
beautiful voices. Since the company was
established in Seattle, the owners took great
inspiration from the city’s maritime history.
