TO INSPIRE AND NURTURE THE

HUMAN SPIRIT – ONE PERSON,

ONE CUP, AND ONE
NEIGHBORHOOD AT A TIME
Why did I choose this
company?
My favorite drink from
Starbucks
It's not coffee cause the coffee I prefer to drink at home is like the
"morning routine." With my music with a mask on my face while
preparing breakfast.
The strawberry acai refresher is amazing.
Cause in this drink, you can find pieces of sublimated strawberry.
I always say, "please put less ice in it," because it tastes better and I can
better pick the strawberry straw out of the glass. Especially in winter
strawberry slices remind me of summer.
The main purpose of Starbucks.
To inspire and nurture the human spirit – one person, one cup, and one
neighborhood at a time
History
The first Starbucks opened in 1971, and it was a single
store based in Seattle’s Pike Place Market. From a
narrow shop front, Starbucks served locals some of the
finest fresh-roasted whole bean coffees.
They had known each other since their days at the
University of San Francisco. The founders chipped in for
$1,350, borrowed another $5,000, and opened a shop
selling roasted bean coffee. For the first 9 months of
operation, grains were purchased from Peet's Coffee,
after which purchases began directly from farmers. The
business was profitable, and soon Starbucks had its
own brazier and a second outlet

About the name
What’s in a name? Quite a lot, it turns out.
In 1971, our founders got together with artist Terry Heckler to define
their new brand. They wanted the company’s name to suggest a sense of
adventure, a connection to the Northwest and a link to the seafaring
tradition of the early coffee traders. Co-founder Gordon Bowker, a
writer, initially proposed calling the company “Pequod,” after the ship in
Herman Melville‘s classic novel “Moby-Dick.” But Terry objected – would
a cup of “Pee-kwod” appeal to anyone?
The brainstorming continued. While researching names of mining camps
on Mt. Rainier, one of the best known landmarks near Seattle, Terry
came across “Starbo,” which eventually led the team back to where
they’d started. In “Moby-Dick,” the name of the first mate on the Pequod
was, you guessed it, Starbuck. A brand was born.
Corporate colours
The selection of these colors for the Starbucks logo is based on the way
the company wants to be perceived by its consumers. The designers
wanted them the green color to be representative of the positive way
the brand treats its customers as well as its partners.
