SINGLE GENDER SCHOOLS

AGAINST
The old-fashioned and outdated single-gender education is no longer
suitable in today’s secular and diverse society. it is an outdated practice
that supports the primitive belief that boys and girls are so different that
having them in the same classroom would be morally and educationally
harmful to their development.
Today I martund jaiswal as the second speaker for the team _ feel highly
privileged to share my views in against the motion,” SINGLE GENDER
SCHOOLS ARE BETTER FOR STUDENTS”.
Single-gender schools promote gender stereotypes by unnaturally
inhibiting boys and girls from forming friendships and relationships with
each other, thereby making the children see the opposite gender as a
foreign object and a subject to a lack of respect. This will eventually lead
to less understanding and communication problems between the two
genders, later in their life.
Students in single-gender classrooms will one day live and work side by
side with members of the opposite gender. The education system in single-
gender schools limits the opportunity for students to work cooperatively
and co-exist successfully with members of the opposite gender. Those who
graduate from single-gender schools find it harder in their life because
they will often freak out when they see or have to work with the opposite
gender.
Every decision made in a single-gender school is based on commonality
and the broader spectrum gets avoided. The school and its curriculum
itself are designed according to just one gender and thus it creates dividing
lines between the opposite genders.
That is why co-ed schools are better than single-gender schools. The
collaborative environment of education, be it working as a team or against
each other, can help the children to overcome the fear of shyness of
interacting with the opposite gender, which single gender schools laks of.
“children usually tend to be shy around each other or are just too curious
about each other, In co-ed school, they might fight with each other but
they grow together knowing each other well”. These traits help the
students to develop a sense of respect for the opposite gender.
SINGLE GENDER SCHOOLS
To conclude I just want to say that a good school is where the student gets
vocal and understands what is necessary to grow. A co-ed school helps
children grow in a balanced environment where they learn to respect all
genders. It does not influence the children’s minds that they are better or
more important than the opposite gender, “ A THOUGHT THAT IS
PRIMARY REASON FOR INEQUALITY BETWEEN THE GENDERS
IN OUR SOCIETY”.
