Compiled By: IIMK Toastmasters Club

Q1: What is the duration of validity of memberships of new members?

The duration of a membership lasts for one year. Renewal of membership can be done after that.

Q2: Are we bound to IIMK Toastmasters Club?

No. Once you become a member of the Toastmasters Club, you will be a member in any part and
any club of the world. You can take roles, attend meetings and give speeches in those clubs as
well.

Q3: Can we shift our membership to other clubs? How?

Yes, we can transfer our memberships to another club. A transfer member is a member who is
currently paid in one club and would like to transfer their membership to another club. A transfer
member must:
● Fill out a Membership Application and check the box next to Transfer from club number/name
and fill in the information for the club the member is transferring from.
● Submit the completed application to an officer of the club the member is transferring to.
● The officer will mail, email or fax the application to Toastmasters International World
Headquarters for processing.

Q4: What happens when my course at IIM Kozhikode ends?

Once a toastmaster, ALWAYS a toastmaster. Most corporations and cities have their own
corporate and community clubs. So you can continue your toastmasters journey even after
graduation.

Q5: Do I have to attend every single meeting every week?

There is no compulsion to attend every single meeting every week. Your growth depends on you
entirely. Mentors and guides will always be there for you.

Q6: What is a part of my membership?

You become a part of the Toastmasters International fraternity. You will get access to the
BASECAMP on the TMI (Toastmasters International) website, which has your Pathway and
learning resources on it. You will be eligible to give speeches in Toastmasters clubs and clear
levels, and you will be officially certified for the same. You can approach members to become
your mentors. And you will be eligible to represent IIMK Toastmasters Club in the annual Club
Contest - which is a gateway to the International Speech Contest; as well represent the club in
Emparch - the annual district level contest for student Toastmasters. As well as other regular
competitions held by the Toastmasters Clubs at other big B-schools.

Q7: Can I attend meetings without being a member?

Yes, you can attend meetings as Guests without being a member, but you will not be eligible to
take up roles or choose your pathways. You will also not have a Toastmasters account which has
an array of content for you.

Q8: Can we pay the membership fee in installments?

Unfortunately, we do not allow that at the moment.

Q9: What if I am already a member at another Toastmasters club?
