Biogeochemical cycle

The term biogeochemical is derived from “bio” meaning biosphere or biology, “geo” meaning


the geological components, such as rocks, water, weathering, etc and “chemical” meaning
the elements that move through a cycle.

 When you hear the term bio you think about life.
 The types of biogeochemical cycle are gaseous or sedimentary.
 Gaseous includes carbons, oxygen, nitrogen, and the water cycle. The three main
gaseous cycles are the carbon cycle, oxygen cycle, and nitrogen cycle.
 Sedimentary cycles include sulphur, phosphorous, rock cycle, etc.
