I. Summary
A. Movie “Troy” (2004)
Two enormous and great armies faced each other on a vast battlefield. The leaders of the
soldiers rode their chariots drawn by horses to meet upfront. Agamemnon said that it is a good
day for the crows, the latter said he didn’t want the king of Mycenae’s army in his land.
Agamemnon said that he is interested in his land and soldiers. King Triopas said that his soldiers
are loyal. However, the King of Mycenae said that it becomes a redundancy, with the
Messenians, Arcadians, and Epeians falling in the hand of Agamemnon. He bargains to settle the
debate by sending their best fighter and the winner will be victorious. King Triopas called for
Boagrius while King Agamemnon called for Achilles. Boagrius is present while Achilles is
nowhere. A boy looked for Achilles only to see him sleeping with women. Achilles got up and
got ready for his battle. The army of Agamemnon shouted Achilles’s name when they saw him
arrive. He made his way in front. The king is disappointed in his rudeness. The latter provokes
him to fight in his stead. Achilles made his way, ready to take on Boagrius. On the other hand,
his opponent seems confident that he will defeat Achilles. The battle started with Boagrius
throwing a spear at Achilles, he used a shield to protect himself. The big man has another spear
and hauls it in Achilles’s direction, he avoided it and is now running toward his enemy. With one
swift move, Achilles stabbed Boagrius in the shoulder. The man fell, and Achilles called out for
anyone who could match his skill. Triopas acknowledge Achilles and offer the scepter to be
given to Agamemnon. He refused to be associated with him.
In Sparta, people are feasting at a banquet hosted by King Menelaus. He acknowledged
the peace with Troy and Sparta. Prince Paris and Hector served as the representative of Troy.
Paris couldn’t take his eyes off of King Menelaus’s wife Helen. Hector and the king of Sparta
seem to be close and talk about making peace, Achilles, and women. Paris saw Helen walk out of
the celebration and followed her, Hector saw his brother following Helen. He has an ominous
feeling from it. Paris entered the Queen’s room like it was a usual thing. She wants him to leave
but they are like a newly-wed couple on their first night. Paris convinced Helen to come with
him to Sparta, knowing the dangers that await them and would do anything to be with her. The
people from Sparta are going to leave Troy, Hector confronts his brother and warns him.
The Trojans sail in the morning. Paris showed Hector that he brought Helen with him.
King Menelaus is angry because his wife is missing. A fisherman saw Helen board the Trojans’
ship. The king ordered his men to ready his ship. Hector is angry because of his brother’s
recklessness. Paris admits to his wrongdoings but would pick to be on Helen’s side no matter
what. The war between Troy and Sparta already started when Paris got Helen to come with them.
In Mycenae, King Menelaus went to his brother Agamemnon and wanted him to join his
battle with the Trojans. He wants to kill his wife with his own hands. They formed a solid union
to destroy Troy. Agamemnon is troubled by the great reputation that Troy has for winning wars.
With Achilles, they could have a great chance of conquering Troy. However, Achilles is
uncontrollable. They need to convince him to fight on their side because he could be a hard
enemy to defeat if he sided with Troy.
Generals of Agamemnon went to Ithaca and looked for Odysseus. He knew then that the
king was going to need him in fighting the Trojans. He knowingly obliged and knew that
Agamemnon was always looking for him for a favor or command. In Phtia, Achilles is sparring
with Patroclus, his cousin. Their sparring is halted by the arrival of Odysseus and his men. He is
sent by Agamemnon to convince Achilles to fight for Greece since he loathes working under a
tyrant. Odysseus used his words to provoke Achilles and convince him to fight in this war.
Achilles talked to his mother while she was making a seashell necklace for him. His mother
presented two choices for Achilles, naming its pros and cons. Achilles made his choice, he shall
for glory however he had his ship and crew, and he brought Myrmidons. Patroclus is included in
his crew.
The Trojans did not know the impending doom. They celebrated the return of the Princes.
The people gossip about the appearance of Helen in Troy. They were greeted by King Priam,
who welcomed and praised Helen’s beauty. They were reunited with their beloved, Hector, his
wife and infant son, and their close cousin Briseis. Troy has been protected by its high wall since
it was built. Hector talked to his father and asked him to send Helen on a ship back to Sparta. He
doesn’t want Trojans to suffer just because of his brother’s affair. Not only are the Spartans
going to the war but also Agamemnon’s collection of conquered land’s soldiers. King Priam
knew that it is fated to happen, the Gods orchestrate it. He believed in Gods for the past years he
served as the king. He will fight for his son’s life. Hector said to his father that he isn’t the one
who will fight for his son, but the Trojan soldiers.
Helen couldn’t sleep thinking about her husband looking for her head. Paris suggested
leaving Troy as far away as they could travel, he would do anything to provide for her needs.
Helen knew that Menelaus would destroy the land of Troy and search for them in every part of
the world. Paris is too naive in grasping the situation they are in. Their lives are on the line, and
the people of Troy’s life are on the line.
The next day, Trojan soldiers collected all of the weapons they could get, while King
Priam offered grapes to the Gods. The bell signaled them that sails were approaching their land.
The people frantically run and the soldiers get into their position. Hector is the best Trojan
fighter, leading and instructing his soldiers to let all of the Trojan inside the walls of Troy. They
will fight for Troy.
The first sail to land in the sand of Troy was Achilles’s. Some of his crew died or got
injured by the burning arrows wielded by the soldiers of Troy. They were the first to fight with
the Trojan soldiers. Achilles killed everyone in his way and so are the Myrmidons. Ajax, who
saw Achilles making his way and killing the enemy, didn’t want to be less strong than Achilles
and was hungry for blood. Prince Hector and his men saw the rushing enemy and decided to
fight on. Achilles and some men of Agamemnon and Menelaus were able to push forward and
reach the temple. Blood is flowing like water on the beach of Troy. Soldiers of Troy were forced
to go back to the city as they were overpowered by the enemies. Hector proved his prowess and
killed the enemies inside the temple. He met face to face with Achilles. He doesn’t want to kill
Hector without spectators and freed him even if the prince of Troy is surrounded by Myrmidons.
Tons of ships have arrived at the beach of Troy but many are to come. King Menelaus
and Agamemnon heard the soldiers shouting Achilles’s name loudly. The cousin of Paris and
Hector, Briseis was held captive and was given to Achilles. She was praying for their God
Apollo to make things right. Achilles seems to adore her and leaves her without restrictions on
her wrists. The son of Peleus went to the celebration. Agamemnon claimed the victory as his. He
is discrediting Achilles and had the nerve to say that soldiers don’t win, kings are. The sly king
got Briseis and it triggered Achilles to want to slay him. Agamemnon saw that he could be
Achilles’s weakness. He vowed to kill Agamemnon and smile at his corpse.
King Priam held an audience with advisors about their plan in fighting the Greeks. They
blamed Paris’s insolence. However, they are confident with their unbreachable walls, fine
archers, and the command of Hector, they will win this war. Paris proposed to fight Menelaus for
Helen's hand. There will be no war, just a fight between two men vying for beauty. King Priam
talked to Paris and gave him the Sword of Troy, hoping for his victory. Hector’s wife is worried
about his husband’s life. He doesn’t want him to leave them behind because of the high chance
of him decapitating them by the Greeks at tomorrow’s battle. Hector was on his way to Paris but
he saw Helen planning to escape. He convinced her to stay because the war wouldn’t stop
because of her leaving. Paris needed her for the motivation and strength that he needs for
tomorrow morning’s fight. Helen went back to Paris.
The soldiers of Troy get ready outside the walls of Troy and are waiting for the enemy.
An impeccable number of Greek soldiers overwhelmed them. The Kings of Sparta and Mycenae
with the Princes of Troy tried to settle for the war to stop. However, Hector didn’t like the idea
of submitting to a tyrant. Paris proposed to fight with Menelaus and whoever won would take
Helen. Menelaus agreed and is confident that he will be the one victorious. Their fight
commenced, and Paris couldn’t land a hit and was always defending himself from Menelaus’s
attacks. It is only the start of the fight but Paris already bled and is looking like a fool to
Menelaus and Agamemnon. Paris lost his sword and has a bloody cut on his thigh. Before
Menelaus gets to kill Paris, Hector stabs him. Achilles saw the fight from a hill. Agamemnon
saw his brother dead and shouted for the war to start. The soldiers of Greece rushed forward, and
Hector ordered his men to fight. The Trojan soldiers were stronger and wiser because of Hector’s
tactics. Lots of Agamemnon’s soldiers died aimlessly. Hector faced Ajax and they had a fierce
battle. Ajax died in the hands of the prince. Agamemnon made his soldiers go forward and many
were killed. They retreated and the Troy royalties were overjoyed.
Briseis is being passed on by the men of Agamemnon, before they could burn her skin,
Achilles comes to the rescue. He takes her back to his hut and cleans her. Briseis attempted to
kill Achilles however they ended up kissing and touching each other’s bodies. Achilles told his
subordinate to get ready to go home. Odysseus was sent by Agamemnon to persuade Achilles to
fight for them.
Priam consulted his advisors again for the battle. They advised to hit them while their
morale is down. Hector didn’t agree and wanted them to not be like the Greeks. King Priam
command to prepare the soldiers for tomorrow’s battle. Achilles and Briseis slept soundly
however, Achilles woke up to sounds of people approaching. Fireballs were launched at the
Greeks. Through Hector’s command, they advanced and fight the Greeks who are caught off
guard. Hector thought that he killed Achilles in their battle; however, it was Patroclus whose
throat was slit. Hector said to Odysseus that today’s fight ends. He killed Achilles’s cousin.
Achilles woke up and was angry that they disobey him. They thought that he ordered
them, Patroclus wore Achilles’s armor and led them pretending to be Achilles. Briseis tried to
stop Achilles from killing his comrade but he shoved him. Hector went to his wife and told her
that he killed a young man. He showed his wife a hidden passage and told her to escape using it
when needed. Achilles went out in the morning to get revenge for his cousin. He rode a chariot
and called out for Hector who was saying goodbyes to his loved ones. They fought and with
Achilles's bloodlust, he killed Hector. The wife of Hector grieved his husband’s death. Achilles
even tied Hector’s feet and dragged his body behind his chariot. He showed no remorse for
killing Hector. Hector’s dead body is outside Achilles’s hut. King Priam went to Achilles’s hut
to get his son’s body back. Achilles was moved by the wise words said by the king and gave his
son’s body back. He also lets Briseis go.
King Agamemnon heard about Achilles's secret treaty with King Priam, promising 12
days of mourning and no attacks to happen. Odysseus thought of a plan after seeing a sculpture
of a horse. The Trojan saw lifeless bodies that appeared to be killed by a disease. A huge wooden
horse is also at the base camp of the Greeks. It was an offering to Poseidon, some said that they
should keep it but Paris wanted to burn it. The huge wooden horse was pulled inside the walls of
Troy. The Trojans rejoiced, however, a soldier saw the Greek's boats in a cove. He was shot by
an arrow and couldn’t warn the people of Troy. There lies inside the horse, the Greeks. They got
out of the horse when it was dawn and no people were in the vicinity. The guards who are
sleeping were killed by the Greeks. They opened the gates of Troy and thousands of Greeks
entered Troy. Trojans were killed and fire broke out. Achilles is looking for Briseis while the
latter looks for Paris and Andromache. Helen and Andromache lead the citizens to the secret
passage. Paris couldn’t leave his father behind, he gave Aeneas the sword of Troy before he went
after his father.
He has a bow and arrows as his weapon. King Agamemnon told his people to spare no
one. He stabbed King Priam in the back, he wants him to see his city burn. Priam pleaded with
Agamemnon to spare the innocents before he died. Briseis kneeled and prayed to God Apollo,
Agamemnon grabbed her hair and wanted to taste what Achilles tasted. He taunts the priestess
and assaults her with words. She stabbed him in the neck, the king’s soldier grabbed her and was
about to kill her but Achilles killed them first. Paris saw Achilles and shot his ankle, he shot him
multiple times. Achilles was on his knees and told Briseis that she gave him peace in this lifetime
of war. Briseis went with Paris. Achilles’ body was burned on a funeral pyre.

B. Edith Hamilton’s Mythology Part Four: Heroes of the Trojan War Chapter 1 & Chapter 2
Troy is a city that is untouchable in terms of power and richness. This city is famous
because of the war told in the Iliad, one of the greatest poems, and the cause of the war was the
dispute between three goddesses.
The goddess of discord, Eris, was the only one left out and the goddess was not invited to
the banquet. She wanted revenge and to find the perfect occasion. At the marriage of King Peleus
and Thetis, she threw a golden apple that marked “For the Fairest”. All of the goddesses wanted
it but it was narrowed to three goddesses: Athena, Aphrodite, and Hera. Zeus was called to judge
who the apple belongs. He doesn’t want to meddle in this tricky situation and instructs them to
go to Mount Ida, near Troy, to look for Paris who keeps his father’s sheep. He was the perfect
judge for this ordeal said, Zeus. Paris is a prince, however, his father received an oracle that his
son would someday ruin his land, thus, he sent him away. He is currently living with a nymph
Oenone. The three goddesses appeared before him. They said not to look at their radiance but to
consider what they could offer to him. Hera offered him to be the Lord of Europe and Asia.
Athena bribed him with leading the Trojans to victory against the Greeks. Aphrodite offered him
the fairest mortal to be his. Paris wanted to have the fairest lady and gave the golden apple to
Aphrodite. It was called the Judgment of Paris which was believed the cause of the Trojan War.
Helen was the most beautiful woman in the world, she is the daughter of Zeus and Leda,
and his brothers are Castor and Pollux. Many suitors flocked to their homes and proposed
marriage to the maiden. Her father, King Tyndareus, doesn’t know how to contain this situation
and won’t pick hastily because it may cause an alliance between those who are rejected. He
made all of them say an oath to accept whoever will be Helen’s husband. The men agreed to the
oath as they could be possible Helen’s husband and it will stop anyone from taking her. In the
end, King Tyndareus picked Menelaus as Helen’s husband and make him the King of Sparta.
Aphrodite led Paris to Sparta where Helen and Menelaus are. He was welcomed by the Spartans,
when King Menelaus left for Crete, Paris abducted Helen and the king found her wife missing.
He seeks help from all Greeks and two significant figure are missing. Odysseus, King of Ithaca,
didn’t want to leave his family behind for a useless adventure and pretended to be insane to
avoid going to the war. The messenger of the Greek army went there and found him plowing the
field and planting salt instead of seeds. The messenger didn’t believe his actions and grabbed
Odysseus’s son and put him in the way of the plow. Odysseus didn’t want to kill his son, he
avoided him and prove that he is sane enough to fight. He had to join the army even if he didn’t
want to.
Achilles, son of Peleus and sea nymph Thetis, was kept back by his mother. She knew
that his son would be killed and never go home if he went to the war. She made him wear ladies’
clothes and go to the court of Lycomedes. Odysseus was sent to find him; even with his attire,
Achilles graze his hand in weapons and Odysseus knew then to convince him to fight in Troy.
Thousands of ships were to sail, they met at Aulis, where strong tides and strong Northern winds
reign. The soothsayer, Calchas, said that the Gods talked to him. Artemis was angry because one
of her beloved creatures, a hare, was killed by the Greeks. The only way to calm the winds and
waves was to sacrifice a royal maiden, Iphigenia, daughter of Agamemnon. He was hesitating
but he chose his reputation instead of his own blood. He tricked her into engaging her with
Achilles. She was killed at the altar. The Northern winds calmed and the expedition to Troy
continues. When they reached Simois, one of the rivers of Troy, Protesilaus leaped first and died.
They honored his death; Protesilaus’s wife, Laodamia, killed herself to be with his husband. The
Greek army was strong, and so is the Trojans. Their walls protected them and King Priam’s sons
are brave and skilled. Hector was held as the noblest and brave son of Priam while Achilles is the
greatest champion of Greece. His mother warned him that he will die before Troy will be
conquered. Hector and Achilles fought each other bravely to their death. Agamemnon and
Achilles were not on good terms, the reason was a woman Chryseis, daughter of Apollo’s priest.
It turned the advantage to the side of the Trojans. The father of Chryseis beg Agamemnon to
release her daughter, but the king didn’t want to. The Apollo’s priest prayed to his God and it
was heard, that burning arrows were shot at the Greeks and disease killed their people. The
Greeks talked about returning Chryseis to stop the wrath of Apollo. Agamemnon didn’t want to
return his prized possession unless someone will replace her. Chryseis returned to her family,
Agamemnon seeks for Achilles’s prize of honor, Briseis. The guards told him that they aren’t the
ones who wronged him, it was Agamemnon’s order. Achilles swore that he will make
Agamemnon pay.
Thetis went to his son and was angered by his actions. She went to Zeus and told him to
make the Trojans win the war. The Olympians were divided; Aphrodite, Ares, Artemis, Apollo,
and Hera favored the Trojans while Hera, Athena, and Poseidon favored the Greeks. Zeus had a
hard time because of his wife’s disposition. Zeus invade Agamemnon’s dream and told him to
attack now, without Achilles. The fight between Trojans and Greeks commenced while King
Priam and Helen watched them. Menelaus and Paris fought each other. The king had the upper
hand and almost killed the prince if Aphrodite didn’t help Paris escape. He called out for Paris
but the coward prince was gone. Agamemnon hailed his brother as the victor and would like
them to return Helen back. Athena persuaded a Trojan to shoot an arrow at Menelaus. The man
did so, and the Greeks were angered by this. They advanced to fight the Trojan soldiers, blood
splattered everywhere.
The Greeks had two marvelous fighters, Ajax and Diomedes. Prince Aeneas, the second-
best soldier of Troy almost died in hands of Diomedes. Her mother, Aphrodite helped her son,
however, he wounded her hand and the goddess was forced to let his son fall. Aeneas was
fortunate to live, Apollo enveloped him in a cloud and his wounds were treated by Artemis. Zeus
saw Aphrodite weeping and warn her to not meddle as she is the goddess of love, not war.
Diomedes faced Hector and saw the God of War, Ares, fighting for the Trojans. He shuddered at
the sight of him and told the Greeks to fall back. Hera wanted Ares to leave and Zeus permitted
her wife. She manipulated Diomedes to hurl the spear at Ares. He did it and Athena made the
spear pierce Ares’s body. The God of War complained to Zeus but he didn’t listen to him. The
Trojans lost Ares on their side and were forced to retreat. One of Hector’s brothers convinces
him to offer Athena a beautiful robe to have mercy. The Goddess didn’t listen to their prayer.
Hector met his wife and son, she doesn’t want to be a widow and convince him to let
other people fight for Troy instead of him. The family was in anguish, Hector held and caressed
his greatest treasures. Hector went back to the battle, while her wife stays at home. Zeus
remembered Thetis’s request and ordered all of the Olympians to go back. He took the matter
into his hands and help the Trojans. Hector showed his prowess and the Greeks without Achilles,
retreated by evening. Agamemnon wanted to go back and give up. They could have won if
Achilles was there. King of Mycenae told them to persuade Achilles no matter what. He would
give Briseis back and a splendid gift should be sent to Achilles to save their reputation and
honor. Odysseus and two chieftains went to Achilles and saw him with his dear cousin,
Patroclus.  After mentioning giving him gifts, Achilles said that he can’t be bought. They will
leave Troy and advise them to do the same.
The next day, they fought again and Hera helped them. She will seduce Zeus and make
him forget about his promise to Thetis. Zeus fell into Hera’s trap. Hera helped the Greeks and the
battle turned in their favor. Troy could have been sacked that day but Zeus woke up and saw
Hector lying on the ground. He was sure that it is Hera’s doing. She denied it and told him that it
was Poseidon. The God of Sea is on the side of the Greeks. Zeus called Iris, the rainbow
messenger of gods, to tell Poseidon to withdraw from the battle. The God of the Sea obeys
Zeus’s order. The favor turned to the Trojans and the Greeks were once again near the cliff of
defeat. The Trojans set the ships on fire. Patroclus doesn’t want what he sees, he wants to borrow
Achilles’s armor and fight for Greece. Achilles couldn’t be persuaded to fight for men who
disgraced him and let Patroclus fight. Patroclus led the Myrmidons and Greeks, he fought greatly
like Achilles, and no one suspects it was him all along. The Trojans wavered but when Hector
and Patroclus face each other, Patroclus is bound to die. He even get Achilles’ armor and the
fight ended that night.
Achilles is waiting for Patroclus to return, however they informed him that he died and
his armor was taken by Hector. The son of Peleus grieved and vowed to get revenge for his
cousin’s death. Thetis begs her son to not face Hector as he will inflict death on him. He bravely
said that he will welcome death. Thetis said that he should not go unarmed and go in the
morning. He saw the injured Odysseus, Agamemnon, and other soldiers, and told them that he
will not run away and lead them. They ate before going into the battlefield. Zeus saw that Hector
is set to die. The Trojans and Greeks fought, Hector was outside the walls of Troy and Achilles
stood in his chariot with Athena. The goddess helped Achilles and Hector died in his hands. He
tied Hector’s feet behind his chariot and drove around the walls of Troy. Achilles went back to
Patroclus’s body and said that he will show no mercy to Hector even if he is dead. The immortals
were angered with the way Achilles treated the dead, he ordered Iris to persuade Priam to go to
Achilles and offer riches for his son’s body. Priam went to Achilles and talked to him, the great
soldier of Greece felt Priam’s words and let him take his son’s body and mourn for days without
the Greeks fighting back.
With the head of the Trojan’s soldiers gone, they were weakened. Prince Memnon of
Ethiopia came to help Troy with his army. The Greeks were pressed to the wall and lost valuable
soldiers. Achilles killed Memnon and drove the Trojans away. Paris brought his bow and arrow
and attacked Achilles. Through the guide of Apollo, Paris’s arrow pierced Achilles’s heel. Thetis
dipped his son in the River Styx to make him untouchable however his heel is the only part that
didn’t get wet by the water of Styx. Achilles died and his body is burned in a funeral pyre. The
armor that Thetis gave Achilles was to be given to the most honored soldier of Greece. It was
decided between Ajax and Odysseus. In the end, Odysseus won and was honored, while Ajax
was laughed at. He wanted to kill Menelaus and Agamemnon because they must have
manipulated the result. At night, Athena struck Ajax with madness. He thought of the flocks of
Greece as the army and beat them. He thought the big ram was Odysseus and slain him. He
returned to his sanity and saw his doings. He is ashamed and killed himself with his sword.
The Greeks were losing hope of winning this war. However, they got Helenus, the
prophet of Troy, and make him their prisoner. The prophet said that Troy wouldn’t fall unless the
Greeks fight with Hercules’s bow and arrows. It is in the hands of prince Philoctetes, they went
to get him however he was bitten by a serpent. They decide to leave him in Lemnos, and
Odysseus was able to convince him to give them his bow and arrows; in the end, they couldn’t
leave him behind. The physician of Greece healed Philoctetes and his strength got back. The first
Trojan he shot with his arrow is Paris. The prince of Troy begs to bring him to Oenone because
she knew a magic drug that can cure any ailment. Oenone remembered Paris leaving her for
someone and letting him die. She killed herself afterward.
The Greeks knew that the Trojans has a sacred image of Pallas Athena that protected
them. Odysseus and Diomedes planned to steal it. Diomedes climbed the wall with the help of
Odysseus and found the Palladium. He brought it to the Greeks’ camp and plan on how to
conquer Troy. The battle between them started 10 years ago but still the walls of Troy were
unbreachable. Odysseus, with his wicked mind, told a worker to build a giant wooden horse that
would fit many Greek soldiers. They would trick the Trojans into thinking that they are leaving.
The horse is an offering to Athena and they should get it inside the walls of Troy. The ones who
opposed not letting the wooden horse in their place were coiled by serpents. The horse is dragged
into the gates and left in Athena’s temple. Trojans rejoiced as the war ended and the Goddess
Athena favored them again.
In the night, Greeks from inside the horse went out and slay the sleeping guards. They
opened the gates of Troy and set the place on fire. The Trojans couldn’t the chaos happening
inside their walls. King Priam was killed by Achilles’s son. The only leader of Troy left is
Aeneas, he killed every Greek soldier he saw. He lost hope in fighting for Troy, he thought about
his home. He wasn’t able to save his wife, only his father and son were left. Aphrodite helped
her son and was the only Goddess who helped the Trojans. She helped Helen get to Menelaus
and he welcomed his wife back to Greece. The land of honor was now in ruins. Only captive
women were left without their husbands and children. Among them are Queen Hecuba and
Hector’s wife Andromache. Her son Astyanax was the only child left. He will be thrown from
the wall and the last sacrifice as the women wait for the ship that would take them. Troy has
fallen.

II. Interpretation (Message)

Love could be our strength or it could be the bane in our lives. Hector used his love for
Troy and his family to push forward and fight the enemies. On the other hand, Paris’s love for
Helen lead to Troy’s fall. Loving someone isn’t bad, but in this case it resulted to a domino
effect. With love, you can defy anything. It also indicates in the case of Paris and Helen, that
love could happen anytime, anywhere, and with anyone. Paris is also the personification of
recklessness, he claimed that he will fight for Helen but he feared death and escape from
Menelaus’s wrath. The greed for power portrays a people’s thinking and actions. They will do
anything to have more power. Everyone has a weakness, no matter who you are. In the case of
Achilles, his weakness is his heel. Just like Troy who was a great city that seemed to be
untouchable, fall in the hands of Greeks after their 10 years of fighting. We shouldn’t be
complacent and let our guards down.
Achilles made it clear what he could do for his loved ones. He lost himself and degrade
the dead body of Hector. Sometimes when we lose a loved one, we lost our sanity and do
irrational things. It isn’t acceptable that you

Achilles also showed what he could do for his loved ones.
