Activity #8:
1. Based on your experiences from Elementary to High Senior High School, which of the
psychological foundation of education are usually practiced or evidently shown by teachers and
school administrators.
 During my high school days, among all the Five Major Educational Philosophies my
teacher often use the"Perennialism" it is one of the oldest educational philosophies that
originated in European countries, specifically in Greece. It focused on the Teacher-
centered classroom activities. Where the teacher will provide/gather all the information
that he/she can use during the discussion so that the students in order to understand
easily. Psychology is the most important of the foundations of education. It plays a
pivotal role in the process of teaching and learning. The psychology used specifically in
education is called educational psychology. We can say that both psychology and
education are interrelated. Education is the shaping of behavior, whereas psychology is
the study of how, when, and why to shape these behaviors. Without understanding the
psychology of a child the teacher cannot educate him in the true sense of the word.

2. Does the K to 12 Curriculum adheres to the concepts of sociological foundation of education?


 Yes, because social foundations help to sharpen students' capacities to understand,
analyze, and explain educational issues, policies, and practices in order to improve
education. The purpose of Social Foundations study is to draw upon these humanities and
social science disciplines to develop students' interpretive, normative, and critical
perspectives on education, both inside and outside of school.
