Fáilte ar ais
Welcome back, we hope that everyone had a safe and enjoyable midterm break. We look
forward to a busy six and a half weeks ahead for the remainder of the first term.
Halloween Hike 2021
Friday, 28th October was ‘Freaky Friday’ in Castledockrell N.S. Pupils and staff alike
transformed themselves into all sorts of strange and spooky creatures; we had a fashion show
and had lots of fun playing Halloween games and activities.
Halloween Competition
Our ‘Halloween competition was a great success. We hope the children had as much fun
creating their entries as we had judging them. Well done to everyone who took part, the
standard was very high. Winners of the competition:
Junior/Senior Infants: Annie Malone
1st /2nd Class: Megan Fitzpatrick
3rd/4th Class: Cathal Dunphy
5th/6th Class: Nicole Byrne
Team Hope-Christmas Shoe Box Appeal
The Christmas Shoebox Appeal is an annual campaign sending gift filled shoeboxes from Ireland
to children affected by poverty across Africa and Eastern Europe. We have supported this
worthwhile campaign for many years. Boxes must be back in the school by Tuesday, 8th
November.
Christmas Cards
Again this year each child will design their own Christmas Card to be printed. We should have
them by mid November. A pack of 5 cards cost €5; please place your order by this coming
Friday, 11th November. The children will all send Christmas cards to local nursing home in
Bunclody to spread the Christmas spirit among the community.
School Activities:
The children continue GAA with Brian every Wednesday.
Helena will resume her weekly music lessons every Friday. We celebrated Maths Week in
October and look forward to celebrating Science Week in November.
