Expressions of Frequency with Daily Activities


You use adverbs and expressions of frequency to talk about daily activities.
You use adverbs before the verb, like I occasionally have headaches.
You use expressions after the verb, like I play soccer every other week.
You can also use adverbs after the verb to be, like Pizza is always good.

Adverbs Meaning Expressions


always 100% of the time every day/week/month
usually 80% of the time most of the time
often 60% of the time every other day/week/month
sometimes 40% of the time
occasionally 20% of the time
hardly ever 5% of the time
never 0% of the time

Examples:
• Ann: How often do you play soccer?
Bob: I play soccer every day.
• Ann: Do you like pizza?
Bob: I hardly ever eat pizza.
