TOURISTS RESORT

INTRODUCTION:
Resorts are the valuable assets of the region. But in our country these resorts are usually
neglected due to our own negligence and mostly because of our government and its priorities
towards improvement of tourism. As a result these short comings don’t add in betterment of
the tourism of the region or the city.
Tourism plays a vital role in uplifting of the economic conditions of the people living in that
particular city. Tourism uplifts the overall activities related to food industry, living standards of
the people and it helps to limitise the unemployment. To enhance the tourist activities at the
level of local and international platforms we need to design a lot of projects like resorts, parks
clubs, restaurants, theme parks. These projects gives aesthetic values, opportunities to
socialize, interaction among the people and their living conditions along with the health
benefits and feeling of wellbeing.
If we consider the city life, people nowadays suffer a lot of health issues mental stress and
burden of the daily life responsibilities. They need a place where they can feel free to move,
close to nature and where they can recreate themselves. Places like resorts especially at the
bank of the river or a lake away from the city hustle and bustle play a vital role in making
people life comfortable and help them to recover their emotions, happiness, and freshness.
PROBLEM STATEMENT:
Our country is facing a big problem of non-availability of tourists resorts equipped with good
architectural design, technological advancements and infrastructure of international level. Due
to these short comings in above stated fields our country is far behind from the rest of the
world impacting on our economy wastage of usage of available talent of different experts
related to field of architectural design engineering, hospitality, and industries which can take
part in provision of construction materials. Successful cities around the world are utilizing their
river fronts and water reservoirs for various purposes like parks, resorts and picnic spots. So my
project is a first raindrop to highlight the requirement and value of resort contributing in
economy uplifting from micro to macro level.

OBJECTIVES

 To activate resort as a space that promote tourism by making it a recreational spot

 Creating a vibrant resort means making it a part of a larger network of community and
space.
 To strengthen the economy of the region
  Healing people by providing them spaces to live, play near to nature.
 Shifting minds from densified and polluted city centers to calm and placid city edges.

5. OBJECTIVES
The main objective of this proposal is to design Re-creative Tourist Resort for the partial
fulfillment of Bachelor Degree of Architecture. Specifically the objectives are to

 Provide a recreational environment for the resort through varieties of facilities and
functions.-
 Provide hospitality for both domestic and foreigner tourists and promote tourism
ultimately Promote local as well as national economy through the promotion of both
internal and external tourism.-
 The establishment of tourist resort will create the economic opportunities to site
neighborhood. Also the local and national economy will boost due to establishment of
multifunctional recreational tourist resort.-
 Create an interactive ground for locals and visitors so that there may be interchange of
ideas and cultural demonstration.-
 Provide a space for official meetings and seminars in natural surroundings.-
 Make analytical study of the functional requirements of resort and implement efficient
design to carry out the functions smoothly.-
 Respond to climatic and energy consumption issues raised by present day architecture
through eco-sensitive design.
In addition, there are various objective related to achieving proper functioning built forms,
that can be achieved through literature reviews and research.
Thus, the objectives are to,-
  Study about the materials and technology regarding the sustainability in design.
 Study about energy efficient design.
 Study about passive solar architecture.
 Study about low cost sustainable building materials.
 Study about spatial organization and areal need of resort programs
SCOPE AND LIMITATIONS:

The resort with recreational facilities possess wide range of scope. If we analyze the present
trend of internal resort tourism and need of leisure place, then it is acceptable to have
multifunctional resort, which not only focus on overnight stay but also concern in day services
too.
For internal visitors, there is no trend of going hotels in weekend, due to their location on core
urban area. They intend to go some distance far from city so that they can enjoy the
environment and freshness there. Hence, resort tourism can provide best solution to internal
tourism

INTRODUCTION;

PROBLEM STATEMENT:
In Pakistan people of various big cities having population of 2-3 million don’t have any facility
where they can spend their time in sports, health activities, socialization and interaction among
each other. Apart from some big cities like Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad, these facilities are
like a dream from an ordinary person to richest in other cities of country. People need to get rid
of stress, daily life routine, and sorrows of life through healthy activities through the facilities
present in their particular city. For this purpose a facility carrying all these facilities should be
present in every city having a population of 0.5 million. This thesis aims to start with the
opportunity to create an example for the small cities of Pakistan.
