Which one is more important? Wisdom or intelligence?

As you all probably know, wisdom and intelligence are both excellent qualities to have in life.
They may share some characteristics, but they are not the same thing. Some people may value
one over the other, which is entirely understandable given their own personal values. Hello, my
name is Chesa, and today I will be discussing the concept of wisdom and intelligence, which one
is more important, which one we use the most in life, how the two complement each other, and
so on.

To begin, wisdom can be defined as the ability to comprehend human nature, which is
paradoxical, contradictory, and constantly changing. While intelligence is the ability to think
logically, conceptualize, and abstract from reality.
Having both qualities is clearly advantageous because each one compensates for the other's
weakness.

Some may wonder why intelligence is important.

Intelligence is significant because it influences many human behaviors. Psychologists believe
that general intelligence is a construct that accounts for the overall differences in intelligence
among people.

Having intelligence in a career that requires a lot more logic, reason, and understanding is far
more beneficial and important because you can achieve better results because of your high
intelligence. Unlike wisdom, some people believe intelligence is inherited. Have you ever heard
a student or teacher say, "her sister is very smart and intelligent, no doubt she will be the same,"
or something similar? well, pretty much the same thing, many people believe intelligence is
genetic because obtaining high intelligence requires a lot of hard work and people who tend to
have high intelligence are most likely raised in the same environment. Is a person's intelligence
similar to that of their parents due to genetic factors passed down from parent to child, shared
environmental factors, or (most likely) a combination of the two? It is obvious that both
environmental and genetic factors influence intelligence.

Wisdom, on the other hand, is obtained through growth, and as you grow, you gain more
experiences, and as you learn, you become wise. Wisdom is far more useful in life, but it can be
found/included in other aspects of your life gradually. And why is this wisdom so important?

When you make wise decisions, you consider both your immediate needs and your long-term
goals. This is essential for making decisions that bring you joy. Furthermore, wisdom enables
you to contribute more to your community by balancing your needs and boundaries with those of
others. For example, we all know that exercise is beneficial to our health. That is understanding.
That is wisdom if you combine that knowledge with the planning skills you learned in school to
create an exercise schedule. Even more wisdom comes from actually doing the workouts and
adjusting them over time to get fit.

Wisdom comes from the things we do in life, the decisions we make, and so much more, and
with wisdom comes the ability to choose a better path because you will be able to be wise in
your life. Wisdom, in turn, enables us to act properly upon knowledge. At the end of the day, a

person's contribution to the world, society, and friends and family will be determined by their
wisdom and goodness, not their intelligence.

In the end, everyone has their own set of personal values that they prioritize over others, so there
are no right or wrongs. However, I believe that wisdom has much more to offer. Of course,
intelligence is necessary, but wisdom has so much potential in life that it could be a significant
advantage in providing us with the true peace or satisfaction that will allow us to act with
maturity and wisdom.
