Socio-cultural factors

It was emphasized that organization are working in the society and it is for the
society. As social beings we are influence by the people that surrounds us and us
to them. It is important that the belief and practices, customs and behavior of all
member of the organization must radiate positive rather than negative. Like in
my company wherein we looked at our supervisors as our model and how they
behave in different circumstances influence us, may it be mild or extreme. As a
neophyte in the organization we are vulnerable. We can see the anomalies,
sometimes it became norms that it no longer affects our conscience, but there
must never be a norm from anomalies because it should be eradicated.

Awareness is a must. Our lack of thought and reflection leads to prejudged. We


usually imitate others, causes many distinct conflict arising. Learning organization
is about learning together yet still having your own identity. How we behave must
have a consideration that our belief, morals, ethics, custom and values

Workforce Diversity

Base on studies that a company that has a diverse employees developed and
succeed more than those company who discriminate employees based on their
age, gender, race, nationality, disability and status. It was believed that
heterogeneous groups can contribute more creative ideas to the mix and give
your business a competitive edge. Employees from different backgrounds bring in
a variety of solutions on how to achieve a common goal. As more diverse ideas
are suggested, the chances of finding a workable answer are improved.
Workplace discrimination is illegal still it holds a huge problem. Somehow a lot of
companies practice no discrimination policy since it improves the company’s
reputation, increase productivity and increase creativity.

In the company I work at, discrimination is subtle yet it still exist. Most of it is
because of age since there’s a huge age gap between me and my supervisor. Due
to my limited experience, there’s always a doubt of my strategy or how I work.
Sometimes it limits me to progress on my work. It was always important for an
employee to feel the openness and inclusion in one’s organization. The Learning
Organization is very important as a variety of skills and experiences among the
team also means that employees can learn from each other. By working
alongside people of different backgrounds, experiences and working styles,
creative concepts can be born from bouncing ideas off of each other and
offering feedback and suggestions. Whereas one person may be great
at generating exciting, out of the box ideas, another individual may have the
necessary experience to execute it; so it is essential to play on each individual’s
strengths and collaborate with others in the team.
