Ans: Operating System (OS) is an interface
between the computer user and the
components of the computer.
Examples of operating system are Microsoft
Windows (like windows 10, 8, 7, vista, XP
etc), Microsoft DOS, Apple’s Mac OS,
Blackberry, Android OS, Solaris, Open
source OS Linux, Ubuntu etc)
Q: Write down steps to restore deleted file?
Ans:
(1) Double click on the Recycle bin icon.
You can see deleted items in the Recycle bin.
(2) Right clicking on the file, menu will
appear. Select the restore option to restore an
item to its original location.
Q: what is the use of device driver?
Ans: Device drivers allow hardware
components to communicate with the
computer system, e.g, printer drivers, sound
drivers etc.4

Q: Define a file and folder?
Ans: FILE:-The main function of a computer
is to manage data and information. The stored
data and information are called files. A file
can be a text, a photo, a music track, a
presentation or a video etc. Each type of file
has a specific icon, which helps to understand
what kind of file it is.
FOLDER:-A folder (directory) is a way to
organize files on the storage device. A folder
can also contain other folders.
Q: write down steps to create a shortcut of
Microsoft Word on desktop?
Ans: (1) Navigate to and right-click the
program (MS Word) that you wish to create a
shortcut for.
(2) Click open file location
(3)The file location window will appear:
Right-click the program icon.
(4) Click create shortcut
(5)The shortcut pop-up will appear asking
(6)If you wish to place the shortcut on the
desktop Click Yes
(7) Your shortcut will be added to the
desktop.
