CHAPTER-1
ORGANISATIONAL STRUCTURE OF INDUSTRY/ORGANISATION AND
GENERAL LAYOUT.
Corporations use organizational structures that place key positions over the
situational needs of the industrial operations. Many manufacturing firms divide
industrial organizational structure by departments within a single facility. For some
companies, the diversity of products dictates a need for departments to oversee
product groups. Other business organization structures serve the geographical
location of various facilities with branch divisions.
Organization: -
This type of industrial organizational structure divides a staff into departments by
duties. Maneging Director or vice president in charge of each function reports
directly to the CEO or president. Functions include manufacturing, engineering,
marketing and finance. Each department handles functions such as human
resources if a separate department for such does not exist. Managers take charge of
the divisions under functions such as budgeting and accounting under finance, and
sales and advertising under marketing.
Bajaj Electricals After the exist of its senior Executive Director Mr Ramakrishna has
change its Structure As shown in the below:-
Organisation Structure

Mr.Madhur Bajaj Director
Dr.(Mrs.)Indu Shahani Director
Mr. Siddharth Mehta Director
Dr.Rajendra Prasad Director

Mr. Munish Khetrapal Director
Mrs.Pooja Bajaj Director
Mr. Anuj Poddar Executive Director
Mr.Rajiv Bajaj Non Executive Director
Company restructuring has also made it possible to Synergize across several sales
division and also will help in better focus.
Bajaj electricals has also implemented a program called " Theory of Constraints"
wich is expected to its Streamline it' s supply chain further help in reducing the
working capital costs it also make sure inventory is manage better.
Product Division: -
Companies that produce or market a large variety of products use business
organization structures that divide key positions to manage each product group. The
CEO of an electronics firm, for instance, assigns a director to each product division
such as cellphones, TVs and monitors. Each division has a similar structure with a
manager in charge of production, marketing and engineering. Department stores use
product divisions with a manager in charge of each department.
Regional Divisions: -
Retail and restaurant operations often sell different products to accommodate
differing cultural markets. Some companies have various departments in different
facilities. For Example a hypothetical textile producer may has two or more mills
producing fabric goods in different states or countries. The company home office is
in another state, and the sales office is in yet another office location. In each case
the store, restaurant, mill or branch has its own organizational structure over various
departments.

CNC Submerged Arc Welding machines from BODE, UK;
CNC Angle Punching and Shearing machines from FICEP, Italy;
Remote radio controlled Hot Dip galvanizing plant from GIMECO, Italy;
Vacuum Plate lifting machine from Allen Wheeler, UK.
Also, the unit is equipped with remotely controlled 1 3 m long galvanising bath, mast
straightening machines and more. These advanced technologies and the internal
team of experts come together to ensure quality- driven processes at every step.
With a state- of- the- art manufacturing facility, Bajaj is equipped to deliver the best
possible services to its clients. The plant is certified to meet stringent quality
standards: ISO 1 4001 , ISO 9001 and OSHAS 18001 .
Equipment:-
Tanks – Many manufacturers find themselves needing to store bulk quantities of
product. The right storage tanks ensure that their contents maintain their integrity.
From alloy, aluminum, and carbon steel to cryogenic, gas, glass-lined, plastic,
fiberglass, rubber, and stainless steel—the tank options are diverse and many.
Generators: – The loss of electrical power during a super storm, hurricane or blizzard
could prove disastrous for a manufacturer, especially if electricity is not restored in a
timely manner. Without the ability to continue to use their heavy equipment and
machinery and their assembly lines, manufacturing companies’ operations halt to a
standstill, resulting in more and more lost revenue as the powerless time ticks by.
And that’ s not to mention the bigger loss of customer respect and loyalty when
products are not delivered when they are anticipated. Because they allow business to
be conducted as usual, even in the face of natural disasters, industrial generators are
often the number one piece of equipment that manufacturing companies avail
themselves of.
Lifts: - are warehouse vehicles that are utilized to lift, hoist and transfer exceptionally
heavy items from 1 spot to another. Forklifts are proven to be crucial parts of gear in
several industrial offices.
Routine Maintenance: -
CHAPTER-4
MANUFACTURING PROCESS ALONG WITH PRODUCTION PLANNING
AND CONTROL METHODS.
There are different stages in the LED manufacturing process— from the epitaxial
growth systems, reactors, and wafer characterisation to chip separation, the 3D
printing of LEDs and solid- state lighting design materials, components, housings and
more. These different stages require diverse manufacturing and assembly tools like
the SMT pick- and- place machine, the automatic LED bulb assembly machine, the
LED string making machine, etc. Manufacturing LED chips and modules for LED
lamps involves the photolithography process, wafer processing, the dicing process,
the moulding process, and much more. The LED manufacturing segment needs
higher capacity machines in order to lower the cost of production.
To ensure consistent LED light output, the display and controls need to be protected
from the extremes in climate. The use of the correct conformal coating and LED
encapsulation can significantly improve reliability. It can mitigate the corrosive
effects of the operating environment and extraneous contaminants, allowing the
circuit’ sintegrity to be preserved.
lighting products. The platforms can also accommodate a 3 7 0 mm panel width for
greater versatility and throughput. It has three circular and motorised cutting blades
capable of separating V- grooved aluminium boards. Due to its unique design, the
distance between the blades and the progressive depth of each cut can be set
independently. It is suited for medium to high- volume production and can separate
individual strips up to 5 5 mm wide. To ensure the quick and precise alignment of the
score lines into the cutting blades, the height of the landing table and guide bar, and
of the centre of the platform, can be adjusted.
Model: MA-05; Manufacturer: Meiao Mumbai Sales and Service:- This is a LED bulb-
making machine. It can also be used for LED bulb inspection— through normal, high,
low and fluctuating voltage. It tracks high- temperature zones to check for short-
circuiting, capacitance bursts and black points. It also inspects the LED lamp cycling
circuit, the aging of the chain boards holder, and the frequency control of the
motor speed. The aging line can inspect 1 680 pieces of LED bulbs at once. It can
work 10 hours in a day with the aging time set for one hour with a maximum daily
output of 16,800 LED bulbs. The MA-06 has a 1 500W motor, WPS80 type 1:60
of speed reducer, and a 2 HP island converter from a reputed firm. Its chain plate is
of a cold rolled sheet with 140 plates, each with 1 2 bulbs.
Inspite of planning to the minute details, most of the time it is not possible to
achieve production 100 per cent as per the plan. There may be innumerable factors
which affect the production system and because of which there is a deviation from
the actual plan. Some of the factors that affect are:
2. Progressing, and
3 . Corrective action based upon the feedback and reporting back to the
production planning.
2 . To organize the production facilities like machines, men, etc., to achieve stated
production objectives with respect to quantity and quality time and cost.
A. Planning Phase
B. Action Phase
C. Control Phase
CHAPTER-5
TESTING OF RAW MATERIAL COMPONENTS AND FINISHED PRODUCT
ALONG WITH QUALITY ASSURANCEAND PROCEDURE.
Testing of raw material components: - Depending upon the Raw material and
components following types of testing is done in the Industry.
• Tensile Strength
• Compression
• Coefficient of Friction
• Puncture Strength
• Tear Resistance
• Peel Strength
• Shear Strength
• Delamination Strength
• Bond Strength
• Adhesion Strength
• Break Load
• Creep and Stress Relaxation
• Crush Resistance
• Deformation Strength
• Ductility
• Elastic Limit
• Elongation
• Rupture Strength
• Young’ sModulus
• Toughness.
Material testing tests the load capacity and accuracy of materials in different
environmental conditions. Through material characteristic values it delivers a clear
definition of the material properties, which in turn allows for the comparison
between materials. Materials testing is not only performed at research institutes, it
also helps companies obtain valuable knowledge for the development of new
products, and the improvement of existing products. The fundamental principle of
materials testing is mechanical loading of a material or standard- compliant
specimen up to break or up to a certain deformation. The resulting material
properties are expressed through material characteristics.
- Articulate Critical Product Characteristics ( CPC) . Link CPCs with Critical Process
Parameters (CPP- s) . Identify Potential risks and define actions to overcome risks.
- Laison with product Design & Development, Supply chain & Vendor Quality for
ensuring the released products have adequate BOM and routings.
- Validation of Processes and set Control parameters over KPIVs and KPOVs.
- Conduct Process Capability Studies and control process through SPC charts,
especially for critical Parameters.
CHAPTER-6
MAJOR MATERIAL HANDLING PRODUCTS AND MATERIAL
HANDLING PRODUCTS
Material handling is the movement, protection, storage and control of materials and
products throughout manufacturing, warehousing, distribution, consumption and
disposal. As a process, material handling incorporates a wide range of manual, semi-
automated and automated equipment and systems that support logistics and make
the supply chain work.
* Forecasting
* allocation
* Production planning
* Customer delivery
A company’ smaterial handling system and processes are put in place to improve
customer service, reduce inventory, shorten delivery time, and lower overall handling
costs in manufacturing, distribution and transportation.
* Controls
* Conveyors
* Dock equipment
* Ergonomics
* Hoisting equipment
* Industrial robots
* Lift trucks
* overhead cranes
* Packaging
* Protective guarding
* Racks
* Software
* Sortation
* Storage
Unit load: - Because less effort and work is required to move several individual items
together as a single load ( as opposed to moving many items one at a time) , unit
loads— such as pallets, containers or totes of items—should be used.
Life cycle cost: - For all equipment specified for the system, an analysis of life cycle
costs should be conducted. Areas of consideration should include capital
investment, installation, setup, programming, training, system testing, operation,
maintenance and repair, reuse value and ultimate disposal.
CHAPTER-7
SAFETY PROCCEDURE FOLLOWS AND SAFETY GEAR USED
IN INDUSTRY
Industrial safety procedures and rules date back to the 1 9th century when the United
States enacted its first legislation to regulate the conditions of work in factories.
They have since developed through federal and state legislation, voluntary
organizational safety programs, and investigations to determine the state of
industrial safety. In the modern day, the Department of Labor regulates industrial
safety. There are four distinct aspects of industrial safety procedures and rules:
development, communication, enforcement and benefits.
Development
Employers across all industries ought to identify hazards in the workplace, develop
workplace health and safety rules and procedures on the basis of their findings, and
maintain proper records on the state of health and safety in the organization. The
development of workplace safety rules and procedures assists employers to
mitigate employee exposure to harmful conditions. It also limits their liability in the
event of workplace injuries and fatalities because employers who have established
safety rules and procedures cannot be held to have been negligent in the protection
of their workers.
Communication
In keeping with best practice, employers across all industries ought to communicate
workplace safety rules and procedures to employees in a clear and formal manner,
and also train them on how they can meet the stated requirements. The
development of safety rules and procedures is ineffective if there is no
corresponding employee awareness and understanding. Under workplace health and
safety acts, it is a legal requirement for employers to inform employees about
existing workplace hazards, train them on how to avoid such hazards, and also orient
them on how they can report violations or represent any grievances that may arise in
the course of their work.
Enforcement
Benefits
Numerous benefits exist to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment and
adhering to industrial safety laws. The main advantage is that it safeguards human
resources as the greatest organizational assets. Industrial safety laws make
industries a safe place to work, which in turn contributes to the attractiveness,
growth and success of industries across the nation. The laws help to minimize
organizational costs because in the absence of proper safety measures, there would
be higher rates of workplace injuries and fatalities, necessitating compensation, as
was the case before the development of industrial safety laws.
CHAPTER-8
CHALLENGING EXPERIENCES FACED DURING TRAINING.
I faced So many challenging experiences During this online industrial training But the
most challenging task was to collect all the available information of the industries
and to understand it and to convert it into a form of Report. I collected general
information about the industry easily, but the further part ( like types of machinery
used, processing, manufacture, maintenance of machines etc.) was more
challenging and tough. We think, making a report using internet is so easy, but this is
definitely not the case. I visited too much websites and watched videos to
explore
more about the company. (Bajaj Electrical's private limited) .
