NAS vs The Cloud

 Assuming you are the Systems Administrator of a certain company

from Business Process Outsourcing (BP); Banking and Finance; and
Telecommunication that would like to implement its either NAS or
Cloud computing?

Cloud computing could be a good recommendation if you are in a company like Banking
and Finance because based in the modern era right now, it is so efficient to have a faster
storage of any data the is needed to be secured as well. Data security is a concern for bank
executives. Understanding the cloud requires considering how an enterprise's current
infrastructure and capabilities may be limiting its ability to recognize and manage new risks
and vulnerabilities and how cloud technology might help. Security in the cloud differs due to
the tools inherent in each cloud provider's environment and the fact that cloud providers
frequently take responsibility for the security of lower-level infrastructure layers. Unlike
NAS, it takes more time to store some data to access and it is not also suitable on the fields
like Banking and Finance Telecommunication it consumes some amount of time that causes
some minor problems in the field. Cloud's Computing is less expensive, faster, and more
"elastic" alternative to on-premise data storage for years, bank executives are now considering
how they can use it in three areas above the line to open up new business frontiers and three
areas below the line to streamline operations. Banks may be able to increase their company
performance and shareholder returns by implementing cloud technology in these six areas. Since
the cloud is on demand, the infrastructure investment gets minimized, which in turn lowers the
set-up time. All of this lowers the development cycle for new products, leading to greater
efficiency and expedited customer response.
 What are you going to suggests for implementation?   Why?

I think the best suggestion for this kind of implementation is use the cloud computing
because using this will be more efficient in the operations of Banking and Finance in these
times now, having a fast and convenient service to the people makes them satisfied at the
most and cloud could be having the most important role to store some data and
information’s of the clients. Also, the cloud computing provides a massive-level of redundancy
and backup at low cost. The technology gives banking institutions every ingredient to make it
future-proof that is a perfect suggestion in this kind of field.

Sharing – Access – Security – Cost.

Sharing

NAS and Cloud Computing provides an instantaneous access to the files and folders and also
the ability to upload media and over internet. Accessing folders via NAS and Cloud Computing,
which has also limited access to browsers and software, is more difficult that could also cause
some technical problems to the system as well.
Access:

Cloud computing is more user-friendly and accessible with a variety of mobile and desktop
devices apps, allowing it easier to set up. NAS, on the other hand, generally provides more
access capabilities, such as advanced apps and Smart. Consoles or television. The downsides of
NAS include that it takes longer to set up, which can waste your time, and some Cloud
Computing is dependent on an internet connection.

Security:

Cloud Computing offers unique security features such as encryption and data storage in secure
data centers, whereas NAS allows you to set up a RAID for enhanced security because RAID
duplicates your contents. You could also use two-factor authentication whenever logging into
the cloud. The disadvantage of NAS is that it lacks security measures against theft or
destruction, but Cloud Computing poses a danger of data privacy because many other
individuals may obtain access to the data.

Cost:

Although you can now get budget-friendly NAS and Clouds, NAS still offers an excellent value
for long-term use, however Cloud is preferable for short-term use. The disadvantage is that NAS
is more expensive, and when addressing with technical problems in the cloud, some service
demands additional fees.
