 2021 Challenges, Progress & a Path Forward
Challenges in 2021
• The pandemic, which has began in early 2020,
affected all industrial sectors, including
agricultural. However, the current situation is
better than before
• Increased the price of pesticide raw materials.
Especially for herbicides, some of the raw
materials have increased up to 300% from the
previous (normal) price
• Farmers' interest in growing vegetables & fruits
has decreased due to fluctuations in vegetable
commodity prices such as cabbage, tomatoes,
Chinese cabbage, melons, watermelons, etc
Path Forward in 2022
• BISI shall remain focus and strengthen on
several things which have shown good
progress and results, such as : (1) Development
of distribution channels ; (2) Continuous
innovation on virus-resistant varieties and high
value crops ; (3) Increasing farmer partnership,
especially with “Corn Partnership Program”
• Stay focus on cost efficiency and prudent in
maintaining cash flow
