English Notebook)

The poem, ‘Beauty’ is written by E- Yeh - Shure, wherein she talks

about beauty and expresses that beauty is omnipresent.

The small things that we do or aspire for, has beauty in it. Beauty can
be expressed in the way we think and act. Our environment has its
own beauty. Everything has its own importance. All things are
beautiful in their own unique way. The rays of the sun have its own
beauty. It can be seen in the sunlight, the trees, the birds, the growing
crops, people who dance to show their happiness when their crops
are ready have beauty within them.

In the poem, the poetess expressed that beauty can not only be seen
but can also be heard or felt. Beauty can be heard in the night, in the
clicking noise of the beetles and the nocturnal insects. The beauty of

1
the night can be felt in the breeze. It can be heard in the chants of a
person singing and in the tiny drops of rain falling on the ground.

Through the poem we also learn that any act done with sincerity and
dedication can bring out beautiful results. Any work if done with full
focus and dedication will give utmost pleasure to the mind. Beauty
cannot be just seen but can be felt deeply within through our good
deeds and kind thoughts. Our dreams and aspirations are also
beautiful as they give us a reason to work with zeal. We always learn
some or the other thing in the process of achieving our dreams.

The poem also brings to us the fact that beauty can be seen in
everything if we have the capability to develop and train our mind to
see it. Our perception can make things look around us beautiful and
motivating.

As rightly said that beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. Beauty is
a thing to be felt. Beauty can be seen in a way one works or rests.
Thus, beauty cannot be confined to one thing; rather it is there in
everything. We just need observant eyes and a patient heart to see
and feel it.
