Section-I

Q.1 Attempt any 4 from the following: 20

a) Mr. Kailash, a share broker invested Rs. 34,200 to buy Rs.100 shares of 05
HANGAMA Industries at Rs.570. Five months later, the company declared
bonus shares to its existing shareholders in the ratio 4 bonus shares for
every 5 existing shares. Post bonus, Mr. Kailash sold the shares at the
market price which was down to Rs.460. Find the percentage gain or loss.

b) Mr. Deshmukh purchased 250 Rs. 100 shares quoted at 10% discount and 05
sold them 4 months later at 6% premium. The brokerage in each of the
transaction was 0.27%. Find his rate of return on investment.

c) Mr. Karma invested Rs. 50,000 in MF on 7th March, 2017 with NAV of 05
Rs.82.5. He sold all units on 18th October 2017 when NAV was Rs.72.5 with
exit load of 2.25% of NAV. Find the no. of units he purchased, total gain
and rate of return. (the no. of units to be rounded off to 4 decimal places)

d) Niharika invested RS. 20,000 on 2th of every month for three months in a 05
SIP of a mutual fund with NAV’s as RS. 53.12, Rs. 56.26 and Rs. 48.86
respectively. The entry load was 2.25% though out this period.Find the
average acquisition cost per unit. (the no. of units to be rounded off to 3
decimal places)

e) Mr. Singhania invested Rs. 24,000 in ‘Global Future – Dividend 05


Reinvestment Plan’ on 20-01-2012 when its NAV was Rs. 15.72 at an entry
load of 1.15%. A dividend of Rs. 3 per unit was declared on 12-5-2012
when the Ex-dividend NAV was Rs.15.85. Find the no. of units before
dividend and after Dividend Reinvestment Plan. (the no. of units to be
rounded off to 3 decimal places)

Q.2 Attempt any 4 from the following: 20

a) Find the no. of ways in which 7 books can be arranged on a shelf, so that
two particular books are not together.
b) 5 professors and 5 students are selected to form a committee. Find 05
number of ways 7 members comittee 3 from professors, 4 from students
can be form for the following situation.
a.perticular professor always there b. particular student is always
excluded.
c) A company produces two products X and Y. One unit of X requires 2 05
machine hours and 5 labour hours. One unit of Y requires 4 machine
hours and 2 labour hours. Availability of machine hours is 100 and
labour hour is 200. Profit per unit of X and Y is Rs. 10 and Rs. 6
respectively. Formulate this problem as a LPP to maximize the cost.

d) Solve the following LPP. Graphically. 05
