RTU520 product line (1KGT151104)RTU500 series interfaces and protocols

Communication unit 520CMD01 (1KGT 150 939).
Application, characteristics and technical data have to be
taken from the hardware data sheet:
Ethernet Interface E1
520CMD01 Data sheet 1KGT 150 882 The Ethernet interface E1 supports different functions:
• Webserver-diagnostic with download of configuration
files and firmware
Operation
• Protocol IEC 60870-5-104, DNP3, …
The Communication Unit 520CMD01 is the CMU board of • Integrated HMI
the remote terminal unit RTU520 for DIN rail mounting.
The signals are used according to:
The 520CMD01 controls process events and
communicates with control centers according the running Ethernet Interfaces
software. For this reason there are three serial interfaces Pin Signal Input/Output
(CP1, CP2, CP3) and the Ethernet 10BaseT/100BaseT 1 TD + Output
LAN interface (E1). For service purposes there is an USB RJ45
2 TD - Output
interface available.
3 RD + Input 1

The connection to the local I/O-boards is done by the 20 4 Not used

pole male connector (X2, X3). 8

Serial Interface CP1

Serial line MPU RAM/Flash
interface ARM9 Memory The serial interface CP1 is available on the RJ45
connectors. It can interface RS232C signals. The interface
is connected to an UART (universal asynchronous
receiver/transmitter). On the interfaces different UART
WRB I/O bus USB based protocol types can be used.

In RS485 mode both sides of the serial bus must be
terminated by a 1 kΩ resistor. The termination on the CMU
side is already done onboard.
Power Supply and I/O bus connections
The signals are used according to:
