Context Analysis

How compatible is the learning context for the instructional requirements? Include both
physical and social aspects.

The learning context is effectively compatible because students in-person are grouped in tables
of 3 or 4 other peers who can provide collaboration and guidance without having to leave their
desks. This context is also conducive to sharing the concrete models of fractions provided.
Students will be able to clearly see and use the anchor chart that provides visuals for any
misconceptions during learning.

How adaptable is the learning context for different instructional approaches?

The classroom environment is easily adapted to peer-group students based on ability and
needs. Within the learning context, students are able to access the learning tools (chromebook,
concrete models, and visual anchor charts) to support their skill development, easily.

The google slides are relatively easy for teachers to create and adapt to meet the needs of each
of th students, and provide opportunities to differentiate as needed. It is easy to navigate for
students, and they are able to manipulate objects (both concrete and technologically) from
their desks with ease.

What constraints are present in the learning context that will affect the design and delivery of
the instruction?

If students are unable to independently navigate or access materials in the classroom, they may
need more guidance. There are two students who often need to be seated alone, due to
behavior management, that may need to be moved in order to make the learning context
effective.

How relevant are the skills that are taught in the learning context to the goals of the
workplace or school system?

These skills are relevant and required TEKS created by TEA for second grade students. The use of
technology, anchor charts, and concrete models are all part of our school and district's mission
and vision to prepare our learning community for the reality of their future.

What implications do these answers in your context analysis have for the way you design your
instruction?

I believe that this analysis has proven that my design of instruction and environments are going
to be effective in preparing my students to master the instructional goal.
