Design of Performance Objectives

1. Performance Objectives
a. First goal step: Observe fractions anchor chart and models.
i. Performance objective(s)
Given a paper anchor chart (CN), and real-world models of fractions (CN),
the second grader will independently (CN) read about (B), and
manipulate fractions (B) for five minutes (CR).

b. Second goal step: Login into Google Drive.

i. Performance objective(s)
Given a student Chromebook, username, and password (CN), the student
will independently (CN) enter their username and password (B), and click
on Google Drive (B), within one attempt (CR).

c. Third goal step: Open Google Slides interactive worksheet

i. Performance objective(s)
Given the document title (CN), the students will independently (CN)
double click on the “Math” Google Drive folder (B), and the double click
on the document titled “Fractions Worksheet” (B) within two attempts
(CR).

d. Fourth goal step: Rename the Document

i. Performance objective
Given a name template (CN) the student will independently (CN) double
click the name of the document, and type their name (B) within one
minute (CR).

e. Fifth goal step: On each slide, use the anchor chart and real-world models to
determine fraction sets.
i. Performance objective(s)
The student will click on each slide (B), observe the fractions example (B),
and, given the previously studied anchor chart and models, (CN)
determine the fraction name (B) The task must be performed within 15
minutes (CR).

f. Sixth goal step: Edit google slides to manipulate and insert names of fractions.
i. Performance objective(s)
On each slide (CN), the student will click and drag the fractions models
images to count the appropriate fractional parts and whole (B), double
click the text box (B), and type in the previously determined fraction
name (B), with 80% overall accuracy (CR) within the 15 minute time frame
(CN).

Fractions Interactive Worksheet | Observation Notes & Assessment

Name: ___________________
Observer: ________________
Date: ____________________

Instructions for observer: Create an interactive Google Slides worksheet on Fractions,

containing several examples of halves, fourths, and eights. As students are completing the
assignment, observe their ability to navigate through the steps. Upon completion,
determine the percent of accuracy in which the student correctly identified/modeled the
fractions names.

1. Did the student read and study his/her fraction _______Yes _______No
materials (anchor chart and models)?
Comments:

2. Did the student login to Google drive _______Yes _______No

independently?
Comments:

3. Did the student rename the document? _______Yes _______No

Comments:

4. Did the student study/use their anchor chart _______Yes _______No

and real-world models to identify fractions?
Comments:

5. Did the student edit each slide to type in _______Yes _______No

appropriate answers and manipulate images of
fractions? Comments:

6. What was the percent of accuracy in which the ____ %

student correctly identified/modeled the
fractions? Comments:
