Walter H. Wheeler, Jr. did not give his name to the company,
but he gave it much of his enduring character. He was a
talented individual and, as a business leader, was well
matched to the challenges and opportunities of his era.

New York Stock Exchange. With nearly 3,000
employees, the company’s revenue was over $20
million in 1950, a 17% increase in just one year.
