When the towering guards opened the behemoth and palatial doors per their king’s command, he stood

in awe of the heavenly dining hall. In the middle there were 10 large tables, each decorated with a
colorful and striking tablecloth. Surrounding the tables was a huge ovular marble wall that seemed to
stretch up to the heavens, in of itself supported by shimmering silver columns which each told a story
through their impressively intricate carvings. The centerpiece of the hall however was made swiftly clear
as the largest and seemingly frailest pillar; it was located in the perfect center of the room and was
composed of a mostly stone material lined with patterns of gold all around. There were steps leading up
to the large platform carved out of the pillar yet He did not feel inclined to climb them, almost as if
something was stopping him. There were also three chairs at the far end of the hall, two of them lower
set than the middle one. It was only when He looked at the floor he was standing on that he noticed that
it was made of a crystalline texture; below him it seemed as if He was standing on the cosmos. A swirling
and chaotic, yet elegant, hologram hypnotized him for a while before the king walked in. Dressed in a
striking velvet red cloak and old hazel eyes he said, “I see you like what I’ve done with the place.” He
nodded, “So you’re not much of a talker I assume.” He shook his head, “I respect that.” He looked
confused, “How about you sit down and eat, courtesy of us.” He walked over to one of the tables and
sat down. The king clapped twice and through the doors five spirits burst out, the ladies all lined up in
front of the king and said in unison “How may we help you?” The king answered “Make the young man
comfortable and get him some food and wine.” The ladies immediately swept across the great hall,
three of them back through the doors and two of them gliding towards him. One tied a napkin around
his neck and the other waved her finger around him and turned his rags into a fresh set of clothes. Then
the other three came back all delicately gliding towards him carrying a bowl of soup, a hearty plateful of
meat, vegetables and potatoes, as well as a bronze cup of red wine. They then flew to the back of the
room and began singing a perfectly tuned chorus. He soon smelt the wonderful combination of the
grapes and savory foods, and loved the feel of the impossibly soft silk. On his first bite he soon fell in
love with the food and before he knew it he had eaten it all. He then realized that the cold and hunger
he felt had faded away, however when he looked at his hands, still a shadow.
