Special Scenario: Hunt

Your boss has been hired to hunt an abomination deep in the swamps. It is currently hiding
somewhere in its lair. The location of this lair is unknown, search the nearby area to locate it,
though beware the dead tend to roam close to the creature for reasons unknown to us. As well
as you may not be the only ones hired to find this creature.

Set-up
This scenario is best set up on a 4’x4’ table. Smaller tables work, they will just be tight and a lot
of very fast paced action. Set up as normal with the following exceptions, divide the board into 4
quadrants each needing a large terrain feature, an abandoned building works best. You need
12 clue markers (these can be about 20mm each), numbered 1-12 mix them up face down. Roll
1d3+3, select that many clue markers without looking at them, place them randomly throughout
the four quadrants, splitting them as evenly as possible. They must be at least 4” from any
deployment zone and at least 2” from each other.
Set up bystanders though instead each quadrant is to have 1d3+3 zombies
Set up a wagon or other style model on a random edge this model becomes the extraction
point.

Special Rules
Each clue marker can be picked up with an action. Reveal that token, you need either 3 markers
or a total of 12 to locate the boss layer. Once you have those then roll a d3 after numbering
three of the large terrain features, this is where your quarry resides. When you go up to this
location place the Abomination touching the terrain feature within 2” of the activating model. If
there is a model already touching this terrain feature use this model as the activating model; if
there are multiple models, roll for it. Using one of the profiles provided below for this
Abomination, I would suggest rolling a d3 to randomize the profile. When killed the quarry drops
a single bounty token it can be picked up as an action. A model with a bounty token can freely
move off the table via the extraction point. If the model is “Downed” or becomes a “Casualty” the
token is dropped and may be picked up by another model using an action.

Each Posse is only allowed to have 5 models in it and one of them has to be your boss, trust
issues. If you are playing co-op each posse may have 3 models in it, one must be a Novice.
Faction requirements do not count during this scenario, such as needing to have two crusaders
in a posse. This scenario works best without factions.

If playing fresh each posse starts with a dollar amount below, each posse also starts with 1
hero, 1 veteran, and 1 novice if playing fresh:
Solo: $45, Co-op: $25 each, VS: $30 each
Winning
In addition to the usual scoring method, each clue marker is worth 1VP with a maximum of 3VP
that can be earned from clue markers. If the bounty marker is extracted then it is worth 3VP.

Abomination Rules
The abomination follows all the rules for NPCs. However they do not suffer damage in the usual
way. Instead it has 6 hit points, each time it suffers a “Shaken” result it loses 1 hit point. Each
time it suffers a “Downed” result it loses 2 hit points. Each time he suffers a “Casualty” result he
loses 3 hit points. Upon losing all it’s hit points the Abomination is “Downed” and needs to be
finished off with a Fight action.
