All of One Lambda software products are designed to assist personnel experienced in HLA analysis by suggesting
typing results. However, any clinical or diagnostic results must be carefully reviewed by a person qualified in HLA
typing to assure correctness. This software may be used to aid in suggesting results, but should not be used as the
sole method for determining reportable results. This software is meant as a laboratory aid, not as a source of
definitive results. The laboratory director or technologist trained in histocompatibility testing is required to review all
data to detect any problems with the software.

Installing HLA Fusion™ Software 4.4

HLA Fusion Software 4.4 is available for users who have already installed HLA Fusion
Software 4.2, 4.3, or 4.3.1.

Installation Notes
Please read the following:

1. The HLA Fusion 4.4 service pack is only compatible with computers running Microsoft Windows
versions 7 or 10. Windows 8.1 is not supported.

2. You must have HLA Fusion 4.2, 4.3 or 4.3.1 installed prior to installing HLA Fusion 4.4.

3. Make sure that all users log off and close HLA Fusion before installation.

4. You must install HLA Fusion 4.4 on each workstation running HLA Fusion software, and you must
have Administrator privileges to install the update.

Downloading the HLA Fusion 4.4 Package File

1. Download the HLA Fusion 4.4 package file in .zip format from the One Lambda HLA Fusion
product web page at http://www.onelambda.com/en/product/hla-fusion.html.

The desired file will be located on the Product Documentation tab under the Product
Description heading, then under HLA Fusion Software.

2. The file will be named HLA_Fusion_4.4_Setup.zip.

3. Decompress the package file on your desktop or wherever you downloaded the file:
a. If you downloaded the .zip file, use the Windows right-click menu to extract the file.

4. You will now have a directory containing a single .EXE file named HLA_Fusion_4.4_Setup.
Open the HLA Fusion 4.4 folder. The .exe file inside should have the same time and date stamp
as the one shown in the picture below. If this is not the case, please call One Lambda Technical
Support for assistance:

Installing HLA Fusion 4.4

Launch the .exe Installer File
1. When you are certain that the file you have downloaded is correct, double-click on the .exe file:

If HLA Fusion is not installed, or you have the incorrect version installed, you will receive one
of these messages. Click OK or Cancel, as appropriate, to terminate the installation. Install an
appropriate version of Fusion and try again:

2. The following Welcome screen will now appear. Click the Next button to proceed with the
installation.

3. You may receive this message if you do not have sufficient permissions on your workstation:

To solve the permissions issue shown above, click Cancel, then right-click on the install file and select
Run as Administrator.

4. You may now encounter a screen such as this one. Click Yes to authorize the installation:

5. The installer will proceed to copy files. The screen will very briefly display an “Installing” message
while files are copied.

6. When the .exe installer finishes, you will see this message and control will return to the desktop:

Note: You must install HLA Fusion 4.4 on each workstation running HLA Fusion 4.2, 4.3 or HLA
Fusion 4.3.1 software, and you must have Administrator privileges on your workstation to install the
update.

Note: After installing HLA Fusion 4.4, the HLA Fusion desktop icon will be entitled whatever it was
before the install, for example “HLA Fusion 4.2” and not “HLA Fusion 4.4”. It is recommended to
rename the icon to HLA Fusion 4.4:

Update Your Database(s) to the Current Version

Please make sure you update your database(s) to the current version before running HLA Fusion 4.4:

1. Open the HLA Fusion 4.4 Database Utility.

2. Select the function, “Upgrade prior versions of HLA Fusion database to 4.4”:

3. Select the options available to you in drop-down controls and checkboxes (shown in red in the
figure below), then click the Upgrade button:
 Select the SQL Server and Database Name from the drop-down menus
 Select the choices to make a backup or not (checkbox), display or skip update statistics
(checkbox), and/or View the Script of actions (button) taken by Fusion when upgrading
 Set the Backup path of the database backup (via the browse window control):

Verify installation of HLA Fusion 4.4

1. On your computer, navigate to the Fusion 4.2 Installation directory at this location:

2. Verify the file version on the OneLambda.Fusion.Interface.exe file is identical to the highlighted one
shown below. Find the file OneLambda.Fusion.Interface.exe, right-click on it, then click Properties,
and finally the Details tab:

3. Check the Product version parameter value (circled below):

If the OneLambda.Fusion.Interface.exe file does not have a Product version of 4.4.0.13925 as

shown above, please contact One Lambda Technical Support for assistance.
