1. What impact does Language Arts have in Elementary Teaching?

- A Language Arts is the art of using language proficiently to communicate an

idea. It is a very important area in the education curriculum in which a range
of skills are taught to students for them to become proficient in using the
language. Language Arts is a vital educational component that will help
ensure a student's successful future. They are essential to learning and to the
demonstration of learning in every content area. Teaching language arts as
distinct and specific classes is critically important to learn specific writing,
reading, and listening skills, but it is also necessary for student success to
take an interdisciplinary approach by applying language arts skills to other
subjects. Teachers are charged with guiding students toward proficiency in
these four language modes, which can be compared and contrasted in
several ways. The four skills work in tandem when the activities that require
their use are designed to support learners in the process of learning, creating
and producing a specific product. Four approaches in particular are structured
so that the four skills can be used simultaneously. These approaches are the
focal skill approach, content-based instruction, task-based instruction and the
project-based approach. When a teacher makes use of activities that have
been specially designed to incorporate several language skills simultaneously
(such as reading, writing, listening, and writing), they provide their students
with situations that allow for well-rounded development and progress in all
areas of language learning.

2. What skills are there to develop in Language Arts?

- When we learn our native language, first we listen, then we speak, then we
read and finally we write. Listening, speaking, reading and writing are the four
language skills we need to develop for complete communication. Listening
and reading are receptive input, the exposure you have to authentic language
in use. Speaking and writing are productive: output, the action of producing
language as part of the process of second language learning. First, listening,
it plays a very important part in learning any language. Effective listening
ensures understanding and it helps improve accuracy when speaking, among
other things. It helps to develop receiving language through ears, involvers
identifying the sounds of speech and processing them into words and
sentences. Second is the speaking, it is often the hardest of the four language
skills, but as soon as you can speak a little, there are lots of ways to improve
quickly and have tons of fun. It helps us to develop how we speak into the
crowd and helps us to speak more about the language and etc. Third is the
reading, it is a process of the brain and it takes time to develop your mind has
to attach meaning to the words, phrases and expressions represented by
symbols, plus get to understand the grammar and structure of the language
used in the passage to read. If you develop strong reading skills, it’ll be very
helpful to your future. Lastly, the writing, even though it may be intimidating to
a lot of people, anyone can get used to writing with a little discipline and a
willingness to learn. It helps us to develop a unique style, correcting our
grammar and clarity, to develop our communication skills and etc.
