The history of science and technology in the United Kingdom is the spatially
focused field of study of the history of science and technology in the United
Kingdom. It is one of the most important, given the position of scientific and
economic leadership of that country during the scientific (17th century) and
industrial (18th to 20th centuries) revolutions.
In 2007 the United Kingdom was the seventh country in the world in registered
patents; but his scientific output was much higher: between 2004 and 2008 he
produced 7% of scientific research articles in the world and reached 8% of
scientific citations (second and third places, after the United States and China,
and the United States respectively).

He discovered lysozyme after mucus, from a sneeze, fell on a Petri

dish in which a bacterial culture was growing. A few days later he
noticed that the bacteria had been destroyed in the place where the
nasal fluid had been deposited.
Fleming worked with the fungus for a time, but obtaining and
purifying penicillin from cultures of Penicillium notatum proved
difficult and more appropriate for chemists. The scientific
community believed that penicillin would only be useful to treat
trivial infections and therefore did not pay attention to it.

Along with James Dewey Watson, Rosalind
Franklin and Maurice Wilkins, he received the
Nobel Prize in Medicine in 1962 for his
discoveries concerning the molecular structure
of deoxyribonucleic acids (DNA) and their

intervention of the British biophysicist Rosalind
Franklin.

electroweak theory, explaining the origin of the mass of elementary
particles, in general, and of the W and Z bosons, in particular.
 INVENTIONS

Among the main inventions and technical applications developed in the

United Kingdom are James Watt's steam engine and the successive
manufacturing machines and designs of the textile revolution (John Kay,
James Hargreaves, Richard Arkwright, Samuel Crompton, Edmund
Cartwright) and the transportation (George Stephenson, Richard
Trevithick, Andrew Vivian, Isambard Kingdom Brunel), the conception of
aerodynamics by George Cayley (which allowed the subsequent
development of aeronautics), the dynamo and Faraday's electric motor,
which allowed the viable use of electricity in technology, other
developments in electricity, Frank Whittle's turbojet, Christopher
Cockerell's hovercraft; and momentous technical achievements of the
second half of the 20th century, such as the first commercial nuclear
power plant (Calder Hall, 1956) and the World Wide Web to which Tim
Berners-Lee was instrumental.

The UK has always been at the forefront of major global
developments. From penicillin, which saved thousands
of lives, to magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). UK
universities have brought great innovations and
countless scientific and technological advances to the
world. LCD screens or the development of the digital
fingerprint are just a few examples.
This activity was quite interesting to carry out, since we
immersed ourselves in a sea of research, by inquiring
about what aspects of English culture had given rise to
many of the things that are used on a daily basis in life
today. In the field of science and technology, there are
multiple theories, research, discoveries, contributions
and inventions that were developed in the United
Kingdom, which, if it had not been for them, there
would not have been great progress in medicine,
transportation, engineering , etc.
As noted above, science and technology in the UK
has a long history, producing many important
figures and developments in the field. Leading
theorists include Isaac Newton and Charles
Darwin. The main scientific discoveries were due
thanks to Henry Cavendish, Alexander Fleming
and Francis Crick. In the engineering projects and
their applications, Richard Trevithick, Andrew
Vivian, Frank Whittle, among others, should be
highlighted.
Finally, the United Kingdom continues to play an
important role in the development of science and
technology and the main technological sectors
include the aerospace, automotive and
pharmaceutical industries.

This work has helped me to understand the impact that culture
generates for invention or discoveries of new technologies and
how they have been adapted to both Mexican culture and other
parts of the world. Several English discoveries have allowed
since the creation of the current vaccines, machines and tools,
which over time have been innovated even in these same
countries.
The reality is that being a great empire has led us to advance
English culture notoriously, however globalization has allowed
us to know its customs which we can support to improve us.
Now we can support UK or USA with new discoverers.

On conclusion, we could say that the United Kingdom has
influenced the whole world in many aspects in this work we talked
about science and technology, what we can conclude is that
based on the theories one of its greatest imports has been with the
implementation of Isaac Newton's laws that are currently still used,
as well as Charles Darwin's theory that is about how we have
originated not only humans but many of the living beings.
As well as the importance they had in the investigations carried
out by Maxwell and Lord Kelvin that are on electromagnetic theory
and thermodynamics.
Also the importance on the contributions on the development of
chemistry, since they made discoveries such as hydrogen and
oxygen.
As well as one of its most recent scientists which was Stephen
Hawking who with his research help us to understand a little more
about black holes, which today is known as Hawking radiation.

TavMedicine is one of the fields that has advanced the most in recent years and continues
to do so. Imperial College London took into account those parents who are blind or have
vision problems. This university invented the smart buggy, a baby stroller with a sensor
that, if it sees obstacles on the pavement, tells the person to change direction. To make
life easier for new mums, the Royal College of Music found a solution for postpartum
depression. This is a condition that affects an average of 13% of mothers. To alleviate this
depression, they propose singing and playing as therapy. It helps you feel useful and kind
to your baby.In addition, according to the University of Chichester, 60 minutes of
drumming per week can be beneficial for autism. Autistic people and those who need
school support would benefit greatly from this technique.

To conclude, the United Kingdom has helped a lot in the development of
mankind in various areas such as politics, architecture, education, culture, sport,
etc. It is one of the largest producing countries in the world with civil and military
aerospace and pharmaceutical industries, it has considerable mineral resources,
and its economy is the fifth largest in the world and the second largest in
Europe.
I think it was obvious that a world power as big as the United Kingdom had a
great impact on the development of mankind, as we have already seen, it had a
great boom in the industrial revolution and also in the area of medicine, making
one of the greatest medicinal discoveries in history. This is a good thing for
humanity because as long as there are discoveries of this type, humanity will not
stop evolving and not only that, but also these discoveries most of the time lead
us to other discoveries derived from this.

In conclusion, it helped me understand the impact generated by

new technologies and that, when implemented in society and
culture, they generate great opportunities for people. Over time,
some English discoveries such as: the structure of DNA and
antibiotics show us how they have changed today and thus be
able to understand how it works and how to use that information
in the workplace. Some contributions of some famous scientists
such as Stephen Hawking was to give us information about
black holes and from there we find what is Hawking radiation.
Another scientist named Peter Higgs contributed to us by
explaining the origin of the masses of elementary particles in
1960, among many things that we did in this work.

Thanks to the realization of this work I realized that the United Kingdom is a
monster, it really is one of the countries with the most technological-
scientific contribution that exists, we can simply mention the work of
Stephen Hawking with black holes, it is impressive that he sir, only with
physical-mathematical operations I explain the operation of a black hole.
We can also mention the work of Peter Higgs on symmetry breaking in the
electroweak theory, explaining the origin of the mass of elementary
particles, in general, and of the W and Z bosons, in particular.

All these contributions have supported what we are today, speaking of the
whole world in general, the United Kingdom really surprised me.
