The global movement of people is a broad topic to discuss, there various reasons

why people crossing international borders, the reasons could be immigration, education,

business-related, or most especially for leisure and tourism and to experience other

culture (Freeman, 2006). Specifically, one of the fundamental keys for global movement

is the increase in migrant workers, these people are from low-income countries which

seek to find opportunities from the high-income countries.

Because global movement is complex, I come up with the specific and the most

visible global movement in the country, The sketch portrays a Filipino overseas worker

(OFW) that are about to leave the country despite being apart from their loved ones, for
their family to experience harmony and to alleviate their lifestyle. There are numerous

reasons why Filipinos chose to work abroad mainly because of higher income and

salary grades, the unstable economy of the country, high employment rate, and as well

as once in a lifetime opportunities (Natividad, 2012).
