Abstract The Pasig River runs from Laguna de Bay to Manila Bay. It divides the
northern and southern sides of Manila, the capital of the Philippines, and the
surrounding metropolitan region, across 25.2 kilometers. The study will
focus on revitalizing the riverfront of Pasig River and making it more
pedestrian-friendly with open parks and public activity areas. Also, it will
incorporate Smart, sustainable technology to benefit future users. Also, it
acts as a buffer zone for storm surges to prevent flooding across Metro
Manila.

Significance of the This study will be helpful for the residents along or near the Pasig River and

maximize the use of the riverfront for public use by designing a recreational
park. Also, it will help the said river by Implementing walkability and
inclusive design for its users. Thus, it will help reduce the carbon footprint of
Metro Manila.

methods to achieve will analyze the behavior of the Pasig River, especially during the
the goal rainy season. It will also determine what smart technologies best fit
the said recreational park. Underneath the riverfront will act as the
storm drainage that will hold a volume of water to prevent flooding in
low-lying areas, especially during a typhoon. Also, the riverfront will
serve as an open park and recreational space to promote walkability
across National Capital Region.
