Globalization plays a crucial role in today’s society, it is a necessity for every

country so that they will not be left behind and be competitive. individuals cannot deny

that they do not benefit from globalization all the advancement especially in technology

had the greatest contribution. According to the article by Velocity Global entitled

“Globalization Benefits and Challenges”, globalization is a process in which

organizations or businesses establish international influences or operating in

international standards. In layman’s term globalization pointed out that information,

technological advancements, consumer goods are open to every nation around the

world. Thus, it signifies that this openness will progress through various people,

cultures, media, industries, and politics. By these said processes it makes a certain

country connected.

According to the article by Donald Smith, Ed.D is entitled “A Perspective on

Globalization: Responsibility to Help Each Other”. The term “Globalization” from the

word “globe” which refers to a systematic international and economic network. The said

term was popularized by a Harvard economist Theodore Levitt in the late 1980s.

Globalization greatly impacts mainly in the economy and as well as culture, in some

instances globalization makes a person access foreign cultures, such as food, music,

and movies. For example, South Korea’s K-dramas, K-pop, K-fashion, and

samgyeopsal would be impossible to reach the Philippine soils and other parts of the
world without globalization. Another concrete example is car manufacturing. Contrary to

American and European car manufacturers, Japanese car manufactures produces

vehicles at a lower cost without sacrificing International safety standards and through

globalization it allows the Japanese car manufacturers to innovate certain car models.
