About the Author, Henry Archibald Lawson (June 1867 - September 1922)

 He was the eldest of four children of Niels Hertzberg (Peter) Larsen and his wife
Louisa.
 He was born near Grenfell, New South Wales, Australia on June 17, 1867.
 An Australian short stories writer and a balladist.
 Most of his literary pieces was taken from memories of his childhood (Especially
at Pipeclay/Eurunderee)

Some definition of other terms


~ Pipeclay - it is a small New South Wales Rural Location within the local
government area of Port Macquarie-Hastings in Australia. This is where the Lawson
family settled back after the birth of his parents’ third child in August 1873.
~ Eurunduree - just like Pipeclay but within the local government area of Mid-
Western Regional in Australia.

Additional information
~ in 1876, after he felt sick and earaches, awoke in the morning slightly deaf. He
suffered hearing defficiency after next 5 years and when he was 14, he became deaf.
