Introduction to Zotero 2

❑ Is a free reference management software that allows you to:


❑ Store bibliographic details of your sources.
❑ Store PDF versions of your articles.
❑ Automate formatting of your in-text citations and reference list through plug-in
into MS Word.
❑ However, auto-generated citations are NOT always error-free. It is best to cross-
check against the prescribed format of your chosen Reference Style.
❑ Free storage limited up to 300 MB.

Creating your Zotero Library
Click the folder
with a + sign

Name the folder with


your preferred research
topic and hit “OK”

Click on the relevant folder which can be filled with


citation details. Each folder is like a ‘mini-library’
that can contain relevant sources.

(NOTE: Keep Zotero open and the desired folder


clicked before filling in entries from various sources,
e.g. Lib Catalogue, Google Scholar, and Web)
