“UNVACCINATED STUDENTS SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO ATTEND FACE TO FACE CLASSES”

After two years of being in a pandemic, the amount of cases has reduced to the point that we can slowly
move to our normal lives just like before covid. However, Covid is still existing and people still needs to
be cautious and keep proper prevention such as wearing of mask and hygiene. As the alert level went
down, the DepEd decides that it is time to reopen educational institutions and allow face to face classes.
Hence, personally for the statement above is disagreeable. For two reasons. One, being the fact that
unvaccinated students can be highly prone to the Covid 19 virus; where as when you are vaccinated risk
of hospitalization and death because of COVID-19 is nearly eliminated once you are fully vaccinated. As
according to MUHEALTH.ORG, “so even if you were vaccinated and become infected, you are very
unlikely to become severely ill and the vaccine is the final step in our effort to get back to a more normal
way of life.” Nevertheless, being vaccinated not only protects yourself but also others as the risk of
infection can be reduced drastically. Another reason is that, according to National Center for
Immunization and Respiratory Diseases (NCIRD), Division of Viral Diseases, “COVID 19-vaccines are
effective and can reduce the risk of getting and spreading the virus that causes COVID-19 as it is still a
threat to people who are unvaccinated.” Which is why it is signficant and essential for people to be
vaccinated, hence it is the very reason as to why I disagree of unvaccinated students to be allowed to
attend face to face classes as they are the ones who will be the most affected individuals.
