Answer the following questions in at least 150 words per question.

1. How this dance reflects the lifestyle of Filipinos?

The lives, work, custom, and manners of the early Filipinos are shown
through folk dances. Every region’s traditional dances serve as an emblem of its
culture. Taking the Sakuting as an illustration, it’s Introduced by Spanish
missionaries as religious ritual, the Sakuting dance portrays this struggle
between the lowland Christians and the non-Christian mountain people.

2. How important is folkdance in our culture?

It keeps a culture of people alive, by sharing and teaching younger

generations the dances. Dance keeps the history of people alive as well. Dances
are ways a community celebrates a special event or important date in time.
People dance for a number of reasons, such as to inspire thought and
amusement, as well as to rejoice, heal, express gratitude, and show off their
physical prowess. Anyone can dance, regardless of age or ability. To be more
precise, there is a particular style of dancing that fairly defends cherished stories
and historical traditions. Folk dancing plays a crucial role in upholding and
promoting cultures and identities.

Folk dance is performed in order to renew and value the sayings as well as the
civilization that their ancestors/forefathers built in order to keep them alive. It
shows how vibrant their culture is by fusing festive and local attire with their
national song. We may say that their artistic expression is a mirror of their
character and way of life.

3. How does global modernization affect the preservation of national dances?

The world is always changing. The preservation of national dances is

impacted by global modernization because the globe is continually changing.
This implies that as time moves on and we open up to new and current dances,
the majority of national dances are left behind. These dances can still be
preserved, although the art of them, like that of most ancient cultures, is fading
with time.
I believe that when it comes to global modernity, nations tend to join in and
support the trend. As the new tendency spreads, it is possible that the
preservation of national dances would be overlooked. People are more likely to
participate in dances from other cultures than from their own.

4. How does dance literacy allow students to engage in real-life activities?

Understanding, expressing, sharing, and embodying dance knowledge and

practices are all part of dance literacy. Students access, comprehend, and
convey their knowledge of dance through viewing, listening, reading, speaking,
and writing activities.

5. How would you help preserve dance culture in your local area?

For me, I noticed that the folkdance is no longer practiced today. Or, should
I say, some people have already forgotten it, but some others haven't. For me, it
is crucial to promote and perform our folkdance in any way possible, with the
assistance of teachers, especially in Mapeh, in order to preserve and strengthen
it. One such example would be participating in group dance competitions at
schools on a local, national, or international level. I’m trying to put them back to
the past years when folk dance worked. Include it in our day-to-day school
events, including after the flag ceremony.

In addition, as a member of the society, I will speak up and inform others about
the value of folkdance and the reasons it shouldn't be forgotten. Additionally, it
will be explained how each dance step has a unique meaning that will astound
you. I'll take them back to the days of folk dancing.
