● 504
○ When 504 evaluation process is discussed at admin / cabinet we will connect as a
team about when to refer for SPED and also a conversation surrounding the
complexity of accommodations / modifications in 504s
● District Website
○ Angie will work with Paul Downer to update main SPED page and will email building
principals when that is done so they can consider whether adjustments should be
made to their individual SPED pages
● Cheat sheet format for building principals for students with specific behavior plans
○ Conversation around whether this may be helpful or not.
○ Discussed possible cheat sheets that could be attached to the door.
○ Will revisit at a later date if needed.
● SST
○ Barry will chat with Matt about our conversation surrounding Ginny’s roles in district
MTSS and building SST teams
○ Angie will create document with possible ideas for Ginny’s new position and share
with building principals
■ I just created a document and added some of the things we discussed in
bullet format. Please add your ideas and later, we can decide if it should be
typed up in the job description format or not
○ Discussion
■ Need to set specific goals
■ Need specific action plan/intervention so teachers know what the plan is,
what to track data on, etc
■ Sudden onset of mental health concerns, attendance and bullying triggers for
evaluation conversation
● Angie will connect with building admin assistants about getting
notified of partial hospitalizations
● Building principals will be continuing to document attendance
concerns, making educational neglect and truancy reports when
needed and looking in special education coordinator when warranted
■ SPED reps for each building
● Ginny at all meetings potentially?
● DES, CE stay the same
● DIS consider Caitlin
● DHS wait until process has been created
● Paraprofessional staff development funds
○ Angie will share at back to school licensed staff meeting the process for teachers to
request additional trainings or meetings with their paraprofessionals
○ Angie will monitor funds and connect with building principals when requests are
larger
● Crisis Response Procedures Training
○ DHS training set
○ Angie and Barry will email Katie and Rachel after meeting to let them know how it
went and they can decide how to approach it at their building
● Debrief with staff after a crisis with a student (thinking when student injures a staff
member)
○ Not discussed at this meeting. Let me Angie know if you have any thoughts on this.
● Release of information procedure- gen ed and SPED
○ Discussed rationale for sending directly to provider and need for release if doing it
that way
○ Not a big enough concern to create a new process
