Gre 1 Month Study Plan - Gregmat

Welcome
This was long overdue. Many people have asked for lesson plans
and we finally got our act together. Here is the first one: a
one-month lesson plan.
Now, before you begin, let’s talk about what this lesson plan
assumes:
That you have 4-6 hours in your day for GRE study
That you are looking for a well-rounded exposure to the test
(Verbal and Quant)
That writing is important, but not nearly as important as Verbal
and Quant
That you realize a one-month plan cannot possibly cover
everything there is to know on the GRE
I know this study plan is robust and intense. It’s okay if you don’t get
to every little thing in it. Just take on what you can manage and do
your best to get that well-rounded exposure to the test.

Day 0 (Preparation)

“Buy” the PowerPrep 1 Test for $0.
Take the test.
Skip the two essay sections.
Do both Verbal and both Quant sections (total time:
approximately 2 hours).
Review
Before looking at the PowerPrep 1 walkthroughs, try to
solve the questions you answered incorrectly again. See
if you can catch your mistakes.

NOTE: You might wonder why we’re not using PowerPrep
Test II. That’s because that test exhibits a lot of variance in
scores compared to PowerPrep Test I. I also want you to save
it in case you need to take the real GRE test again.

Day 30 (Review)
Reflection
You’ve been on quite a journey. Even if you didn’t finish
every exercise or every video in the plan, you powered
through an extremely intensive GRE crash course. Well
done!
If your score on the practice test yesterday was not ideal,
don’t panic. Variance in scores is normal. It doesn’t
mean you learned nothing.
What you need to do now is go through that test very
carefully and do a thorough review. We can learn from
our mistakes. Never forget that.
Review
Make a list of every question you answered incorrectly.
Try to solve it again WITHOUT looking at any
explanations.
Put into words what mistake you made. Was it
vocabulary? Logic? Lack of a math concept? Silly
mistake? Got tricked?
Finally, go through the book’s answer explanations if
you’re still struggling with a problem.
Emotions
Keep your emotions in check. The GRE does not define
you. It’s just a stupid game — a game you can always
play again.
