Planning your Extended Stay
Always make sure to do all the bookings in advance, especially if you plan on travelling
anywhere by train.
Opt for 3AC or 2AC option in the train. Please avoid the General coach or Sleeper class
coach. Theft is common in Indian Railways. Considering that, 2AC is the best alterative
to book.
Save all the tickets and boarding cards for documentation later on. To be on a safer
side, always click a picture of the tickets and the boarding cards and send it in your
respective WhatApp groups. That way, even if you lose the physical documents, you
would have a picture.
When you travel to touristic destinations, it is highly probable you would encounter
beggars who would ask you for money. Do not entertain them. If you give one beggar
any alms, you would be surrounded with 4-5 other ones in a few seconds.

Greetings
Being a tourist in India is a bit like being a celebrity. People will want to talk to you,
and often be photographed with you, wherever you go. This stands true specially in
tourist places (like Agra). The traditional greeting is to say "namaste" (greetings to
you). It is sometimes accompanied with your hands together in a prayer-like
gesture in front of your chest, though it is not compulsory or expected. You can say
'Hello' to everyone. It is very commonly used.

Shaking hands is a common business greeting that can be used anytime and
anywhere.
