all see there’s a number Road Traffic Accidents and other accidents whilst people are
travelling between home and work. Unfortunately, for the people involved this can result
in serious injury or worse.
As a reminder the seasons have changed quite drastically this year. The dark nights are
well and truly here and with this there is a need to refresh our memories on the winter
"survival" skills. Take a little time to review your personal safety measures this year and
prevent becoming a statistic like one of anyone did last year.
Pedestrians:
Motorbike Users:
Car Drivers:
Be aware of all road users: pedestrians, bikers, cyclists and public transport i.e.: Buses.
Ensure your car is maintained: battery, anti-freeze, tyres, lights, windscreen etc.
Carry extra safety aids particularly on longer journeys: blankets, thermals, heavy coat,
shovel, torch, flask of coffee or tea, de-icer. If you have room maybe a bag of heavy grit.
Be wary of driving through flooded parts of roads
Drive to the conditions not your car's performance.
