Subject Name: Computer Networks Lab Subject Code: 20CSP-334

1. Aim/Overview of the practical: Implement Dynamic Routing using RIP (Routing

Information Protocol).

2. Objective:

How dynamic routing is created , maintained and updated by a network administrator using
dynamic route RIP.

3. Apparatus:

S.No APPARATUS NAME QUANTITY

1. Router ( 1841 ) 3
2. Switch ( 2960-24TT ) 3
3. PC- PT 6
4. Connecting Cable ( Automatically Choose As per required
Connection Type )

4. Procedure:
 Attach required devices (Switch/Router) in the packet tracer software.
 Assign IP address to devices.
 Assign subnet mask and default gateways of every device linked with the router.
 Set up the dynamic routing between both the routers associated with the network and
next hop provided.
 Select source and destination for the message (PDU) and drop packet from source
to destination.
 Go to Simulation mode and click capture/Play.
 Check simultaneously at the right side of the bottom most corner to check the status
of the connection as being successful or failed.

5. Screenshot of the Ouput

We have done Dynamic Routing for for 3 Routers and 3 Switches

6. Result: Successfully implemented the working of dynamic routing using 3 routers using
RIP ( Router Information Protocol ).

Learning outcomes (What I have learnt):

1. To use Cisco Packet Tracer.

2. Configuring of Address in devices.

3. Learnt about ping in networking.

4. Learnt about Dynamic Routing , RIP and connections.

5. Had understood concepts about routers and switches thoroughly.
